to infinity and BEYOND!
Name: Kat
Age: 20 (Forgive me if I forget D: the whole "no longer being a teen" thing keeps slipping my mind...)
Location: California now, Germany come September (!!!)
How do you identify?: Pansexual and female. Attraction for me isn't strictly gender-based, though admittedly I tend to ogle the fellas more often than ladies.
Interests/hobbies: I wish I had really cool hobbies like fighting crime or LARPing, but alas! I don't. :< I like to read lots, typically things about werewolves and Victorian England. :D I'm a sucker for dressing up, and as a result tend to throw/attend a great many costume parties; viking, werewolf, Disney, Harry Potter, Narnia, regency, Sweeney Todd, ugly sweater, etc. My mates and I chronicle the funny things we say and pass the time by keeping journals of our adventures and travels, and luckily I travel quite a bit. I want to live abroad some day and be a happy ex-pat--my only real goal after graduating from college...I love languages and linguistics and so am currently studying Spanish and German, with plans to take Norwegian in the fall and perhaps Swedish some day. I like sass and wit, laughing often and loudly. I take my tea with milk and sugar, hate driving and wish Middle Earth was real. I love coloring books, stuffed animals, cigars and playgrounds. I also have a thing for cats, stickers (especially cat stickers. predictable, right?) castles, and talking. I talk a lot. I basically never shut up. :>
Favourite books: The Secret Garden (token classic plug to make me seem literary!...but no, really, its my favorite.) The Parasol Protectorate, His Dark Materials, Dragonriders of Pern (nerd.) Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Jane Austen, Confessions of Georgia Nicholson, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Jane Eyre, Interview with a Vampire, A Lesson Before Dying...And more, naturally.
Favourite films: Forewarning: here is where I reveal that I'm basically a seven year old. Many apologies :B Mulan, Thumbelina, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tuck Everlasting, Becoming Jane, Sense and Sensibility (the Emma Thompson/Hugh Grant version!), Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre (newest Masterpiece Theatre) Moulin Rouge, The Hangover, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix/Half-Blood Prince, Almost Famous, Chocolat, Benny and Joon, Star Trek, About a Boy, Bridget Jones' Diary, Shakespeare in Love, Ever After, 10 Things I Hate About You, A Knight's Tale, Pan's Labyrinth, Finding Neverland, RENT..etc?
Favourite music: Oh golly, I could probably go on forever but here's a smattering: Tyr (recently gotten into viking metal) Epica (...symphonic metal, too) Brandi Carlile, The Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, Noah and the Whale, T. Pain, Postal Service, Passion Pit, Matt Costa, Ingrid Michaelson, The Kooks, Lily Allen, Kate Nash, Florence and the Machine, Mika, Lady Gaga (don't hate) as well as musicals, movie scores, classical and boys' choirs. :D
What would you like to send/receive?: For now e-mails would simply be swell! I like conversing and the more folk I get to chat with the happier I am :D *rather simple* But come September I'll be in Munich for the year and I have a feeling snail mail will become my best friend. I love using up my eclectic stationary collection, so I'd love to write letters, share music, make collages and doodles...I tend to collect things I find, wanting to add presents to everything so I'd love to send and receive just trinkets and notes. Nothing big but still very nifty.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone! ..well, unless you're a fugitive or evil villain or some such. But, really, if you're my age, cool! If not, awesome! Nbd. (..no big deal. yeah, I use acronyms, lo siento.)
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Well, Germany would be the coolest, considering its about to become home. I have a weird love of Scandinavia, so anyone from those countries will instantly have my unquestioned love. But Mama's not picky, you can be from anywhere you like :>
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: Blood money, snacks, audition tapes, packing peanuts (I always make a mess...) and anything dead, stolen, naked, sexual. ...If it *is* dead and cool and taxidermied, I might be swayed to accept...
What would be in your dream letter or package?: A lengthy letter filled with stickers, doodles, hilarious commentary and something I can add to my bulletin board. Or a package with new music, polaroids, doodles, something that reminded you of me, *and* a letter! ...maybe a stuffed animal or book. ;D
Anything else you'd like to add?: Sorry if you don't laugh at any of my jokes :( Its 1:30 AM and I just saw The A-Team: my mind is filled with explosives, mohawks, Bradley Cooper and the pondering of how crap my handwriting is.

I know, right?! I guess New Zealand will just have to suffice as a substitute. *sigh* re: Middle Earth

I'm so glad a friend turned me onto Týr. Oddly enough they really help me get into a mindset most suited for room cleaning. ..Which is a ghastly task so I suppose only their Nordic croons could help inspire. :B

are you going to uni in Munich? Or... join a covent? Or something? Although I only know people who go to uni in Munich. Or work there. Wow, I know lots of people in Munich.
Rambling. Cool. What a great first impression!
Anyway, you sound really cool, I did laugh at your jokes (yay!) and I'd like to be your penpal :)

Bahah you made a swell first impression. My default mode is to ramble. 'N thanks for thinking I'm cool, ahha! AND LAUGHING AT MY JOKES YESSSSS! let's totes be penpals :D
I just perused your entry and let me just say: ALANNA BY TAMORA PIERCE?! <333 and I love Lenka and Scouting for Boys :D

I ramble, too. Sometimes I'd start a serious discussion and then I'd be distracted by something, start talking about something else and totally lose my train of thought. People around me are used to it, though.
Oh, and I just read about the themed parties! My friends and I do that, too. Mine (in September, for my birthday) will be a super clichéd princess party. Strangely enough, everyone's looking forward to it. Haha.
Yeah, let's be friends! xD
Of course Alanna! I got it for my 18th birthday and have loved it ever since. Beautiful. So, so good.
I lost my entire music collection last year during two harddrive-crashs, so I am sticking to the stuff I can remember. It's sad.
