Favourite books: To name five, as they leap to mind: The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector, Jeanette Winterson’s The Passion… The Naked Civil Servant by Quentin Crisp… The Portrait of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde—Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf.
Favourite films: “Portrait of a Marriage,” “Juno,” the Peter Sellers Pink Panther movies.
Favourite music: The rhythm of poetry, the chuckles of loved ones, the tall tales of friends and acquaintances.
Rolling your eyes? Very well: Abba, Bjork, Beiderbecke, Couperin, Dalida, Elfman, Frou Frou … The Pretenders, Rameau, Royer, Sabah, Scarlatti, Steely Dan, Tiny Tim … Vivaldi…
What would you like to send/receive?: As my address is presently in-transit, e-mails will have to do. However, I would otherwise give preference to letters.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Nice but challenging and enthusiastic folks.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: I would not like to receive mail from and send mail to countries whose governments intercept and read mail or e-mail, or reserve the power to do so.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") No food, please. I am not ready for that kind of commitment.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: A blisteringly hot love letter. But I realize one has to earn it first.
