Introductory Post
Name: Alice
Age: 20
Location: Northampton, MA
How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) Sapphic
Interests/hobbies: Reading, writing, singing, music, cooking, history. I'm a book worm and a history nerd.
Favourite books: Anything by David Sedaris, Christopher Moore or Neal Stephenson. Plus A Confederacy of Dunces, the Stieg Larsson trilogy (like everyone else on the planet) and really old school science fiction like The Time Machine by H.G. Wells or We by Yevgeny Zamyatin.
Favourite films: Old ones, mostly. Big technicolor movie-musicals or black and white thrillers.
Favourite music: Uhhh...everything? The only music I generally dislike is violent, screaming heavy metal. But even that has its place.
What would you like to send/receive?: Mix CDs! I love making them for people and I love receiving them. Letters and photographs are fun too.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone who wants a pen pal.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Anywhere!
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") No porn, thanks. Or like...white supremacist literature. Or death threats.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: A letter, a mix CD, and a drawing/photograph, even if it's just a doodle from your notebook or a snapshot from a disposable camera.
Anything else you'd like to add?: I think this is a really awesome idea, plus queer is my favorite way to identify.

I am also rather addicted to frozen yogurt.

And I am the same. I love fro-yo.

Fro-yo is ridiculously addicting. They opened up a cute little independent parlor/store/whathaveyou about 100 yards away from my apartment. So delicious, so much of my money being spent on it!

OMG I KNOW. Fro-yo is probably one of my favourite foods. As is demonstrated by the slight tummy I've developed from eating too much of it. :/ Oh well. When it tastes that good, surely it's worth it? :P They have a little shop like that in town ten miles away from where I live. A long way to go for fro-yo, but I'm usually in town shopping for new guitar picks, CDs or a book or two so I'll often pick up a pot whilst I'm in town!
Oops. Sorry. Long comment.

What's your nerdy historical subject of choice?

And nerdy historical subject of choice...that's hard. I've always been obsessed with Napoleon I and last quarter I took a Russian history course and got really into the Ukrainian Cossacks and their history. Those would be my top two at the moment. Are you a fellow history nerd?

And history nerds are the coolest kids.
EDIT: Also you have really good taste in music and Holden Caulfield quotes.
