We'll Float On

Name:
Amy

Age:
Eighteen

Location:
Bellevue, Washington, USA

How do you identify?:
Female, bisexual
I tend to prefer female company, though, and my girlfriend is lesbian.

Interests/hobbies:
Reading, writing, drawing, talking (yes, I mean this), generally slobbing around. I go through sketchbooks the way a dog goes through chew toys, and same thing with lined notebooks. Some are full of drawings, some full of poetry, some full of writing, etc etc. I think you get the point that I'm an artist of many trades.

Favourite books:
The entire Harry Potter series, the Incarnations of Immortality series, Earth's Children series, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy, Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld, Terminal World by Alastair Reynolds, Ender's Game, etc etc. Sci-fi to fantasy to historical fiction.

Favourite films:
Hook, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the entire Flying Circus, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Favourite music:
I'll listen to and enjoy pretty much everything with a few small exceptions: Certain heavy metal/metalcore/whatever-they-call-it-these-days, most American rap (save Eminem), and all Country music. Particularly Taylor Swift, ugh.

What would you like to send/receive?:
Letters, drawings, poems, etc.

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?:
People close to my age - no older than 25, please - and with similar interests and such. I don't really care if it's men or women.

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?:
I would love to receive international mail, but for the life of me I can't write international addresses without first receiving mail from that country. So I'm willing to send anywhere as long as a garden-variety stamp will cover the postage.

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?:
Nothing adult, please. I'm not interested in romance or anything of that sort. I just want friends and people to talk to. I'd also rather not receive food, lots of sensitive eaters in my house.

What would be in your dream letter or package?:
A poem and a drawing, either or both at the same time. Maybe a new sketchbook now and then, or drawing pencils/erasers/sharpeners. I don't want/need much, and I feel kind of guilty when I receive random gifts. I'll always send a thank-you. Always. Basically, anything you want to send me is fine as long as it's not anything mature or adult.

Anything else you'd like to add?:
I've got AIM, YIM, and Live Messenger, as well as g-mail and such, so however you want to contact for address exchange is fine with me~
AIM :: dirtaycash
YIM :: dirtaycash (at) rocketmail (dot) com
MSN :: dirtaycash (at) live (dot) com
gmail :: hammerheadead (at) gmail (dot) com

I'm semi-fluent in French and Spanish, also, but nothing else really. English (American English) is my native language and, sadly, I prefer to speak/write/communicate in that. I'd be happy to be tutored in another language, though~

Picture:
Crappy phone picture, but eh.

I'm too old for you (early 30s) so I'm not asking to be your pen pal, but I wanted to comment since you mentioned the Earth Children series. Are you familiar with the EC fan website/forum? And did you know the final book is finally coming out? (Next March, I believe.)

Cool. I couldn't find the email I got the notification in about the publish date. I can't wait - I hope it's worth the six years since Shelters came out! :-)

Here is the forum:
http://www.ecfans.com/

It's pretty cool. The meet-up some of them do sound cool, but I've never been close enough to anyone to be able to make the drive.

I like the fan fics about what could have happened to Durc, and/or the rest of Ayla's birth people.

Eh, it's a shame you don't like rock. You are missing out on a lot. I never used to understand it and thought it was just a load f noise, but now it's all I listen to.
