As for non-trans-related books, I really like the Hitchhiker's Guide series.

The Human Centipede (First Sequence), anything by Miyazaki, The Orphan

Owl City, LIGHTS, The Fray, Blue October, Meg and Dia, Mr Mister, SoaD, Disturbed...
I really like light electropop (feel good music) and metal at the same time. Also classic rock.
