Name: Dorian, though most people call me Dori

Age: I'll be 24 in August.

Location: I live in the Lone Star State of Texas.

How do you identify?: I'm a heterosexual woman who was born transsexual, but I'm willing to admit I have bi-sexual tendencies.  My boyfriend doesn't seem to mind though.  ;)

Interests/hobbies: I'm a psychology student during the week and a waitress during the weekend.  I'm the president of my school's GSA and also volunteer at a LGBT youth center once a week.  I love to read, write, cook and shop.  I also play video games and paper & dice games on the weekends.

Favorite books: American Gods, The Astonishing Adventures of Fan Boy and Goth Girl, Brave New World, The Dark Knight Returns, Fables, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, House of Leaves, Lost Girls, Naked, Preacher, The Tao of Pooh, 'Tis, Watchmen, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Writing Down the Bones, Y: The Last Man.  Yes, plenty of those are graphic novels.  I am a huge fangirl, especially for Batman.

Favorite films:  Chocolat, Clerks, The Dark Knight, Everything is Illuminated, Fear and Loathing in Vas Vegas, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Igby Goes Down, Lars and the Real Girl, Ma vie en Rose, Pleasantville, Pulp Fiction, The Royal Tenenbaums, Secretary, Thank You For Smoking

Favorite music: I have a very eclectic music collection.  Some of my favorite bands are Amanda Palmer, Beastie Boys, The Beatles, Cake, Courtney Love, The Cranberries, The Dresden Dolls, The Eagles, Foo Fighters, Garbage, Green Day, Hole, Joan Jett, Lady Gaga, Lady Sovereign, No Doubt, Pink Floyd, Poe, Queen, Rasputina, Regina Spektor, Smashing Pumpkins, Tori Amos, Weezer

What would you like to send/receive?: Letters and maybe a mix-CD every now and then.

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: I'm not terribly picky.  I haven't had a penpal since I was in elementary school and I thought it might be fun.  I guess my ideal would be a fellow trans woman from another country.

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Any foreign country would be amazing, but a fellow American could be cool too.

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: No naked pictures or sexual material please.  Anything else, I'm game.

What would be in your dream letter or package?: Pictures of your local landmarks/hang-outs and information on what you do, what you're home is like and whatnot.  And a mix-CD or some homemade baked goods would be amazing too.  (I love to bake, so look out around Christmas time!)

Anything else you'd like to add?:  This is a great idea!  I love to connect with people and letter writing is quickly becoming a lost art form.  I can't wait to get started!
