Hi?
Name: MJ
Age: 21. However, I was kind of born a stereotypical old British man, so take from that what you will.
Location: Missouri, USA
How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) Oh, the fun question... Gender? Female, definitely. Sexuality? To save time, I tend to tell people I'm a lesbian, but that's not entirely accurate. I go for women probably 80% of the time, but that 20% male portion is almost entirely composed of fictional characters, which some people count and others don't. I guess the easiest way to phrase it is that I'm a lesbian with some exceptions.
Interests/hobbies: Reading and writing take up a very large amount of my time. I research whatever suits my fancy at a given moment, so I've accumulated a very large collection of random trivia that probably interest no one but me, but it amuses me so I'm okay with it. I watch too much TV, though never on the actual television (I tend to watch series in large blocks at a time on sites like Hulu or Netflix). Um... other hobbies? Cars (the one stereotype I seem to consistently adhere to...), knitting, computers, comics, languages, cooking. I'm sure there are others that aren't occurring to me right now.
Favourite books: Pretty much anything considered a “classic” (Yeah. I have my pretentious English Lit. Major moments. Why do you ask?), including but not limited to Beowulf, Shakespeare's plays (mainly his comedies, though a few of his tragedies as well), Dante's Divine Comedy, Paradise Lost, Jane Austen's novels (with the exception of Emma, of which I am none too fond...), Sherlock Holmes, Machiavelli's The Prince, The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion, Sophocles' plays, and Edgar Allen Poe's stuff. Non- “classics” that I really enjoy include (but, once again, are in no way limited to) the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books, absolutely anything by Neil Gaiman, Terry Prachett's Discworld series, Ender's Game (though I've only read the first one. I'm a little bit afraid to try any of the others lest they ruin my enjoyment), Ursula K. LeGuin's books, Mary Roach's Stiff, Matt Ridley's Genome, and Jennifer Fallon's Second Sons trilogy. I also have a soft spot for religious texts (I'm in the middle of The Summa Theologica and enjoying it a truly embarrassing amount), though it's a purely academic interest rather than religious.
Favourite films: So, I tend to watch TV more than I watch movies, though I have a few favorite movies of my own, such as the Star Trek reboot, A Perfect Murder, Dark Knight, From Hell, the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, Sin City, Gattaca, V for Vendetta, Phantom of the Opera, Dogma, the Underworld series, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Sherlock Holmes, and History Boys. TV shows include Doctor Who (originally just nu!Who, but I've begun to go back and watch classic!Who recently and am enjoying myself), Supernatural (yeah. This one's more of a guilty pleasure than anything, but I don't care. It's wonderful), Bones, the first five seasons of House, the first seven seasons of CSI (Vegas, not any of the spin-offs), Star Trek: TOS, and Torchwood.
Favourite music: Heh. Pretty much everything, really. It all depends on my mood. Classic rock is usually a pretty safe bet, but there's nothing I won't at least try.
What would you like to send/receive?: Well, e-mail is always easiest, but I still haven't managed to grow out of the thrill that comes with receiving an actual letter. Packages are fun, but those get expensive and I'm currently a poor, unemployed student (though, here's to hoping that one changes pretty soon...).
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone? I'm not picky. I like talking to people...
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Anywhere? I'll admit to only being fluent in English, but other than that I'm not too picky. Though I'd prefer to use e-mail for anyone international, just for convenience's sake. Sending mail internationally is such a pain...
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") Anything explicit? Other than that, I'm good, really.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: Interesting thoughts or ideas? I don't know. I'm not picky. Surprise me!
Anything else you'd like to add?: The other day, I was trying to describe to my friend my experiences the last time I went camping, and realized that they pretty much summed up my entire approach to life, which seems an acceptable thing to share on a post that is supposed to be about introducing yourself. It was: “I just kind of sat off to one side , a stick to poke the fire in one hand and a book in the other.”
So...that was insanely long. I apologize. I'm apparently quite loquacious today, and perhaps a bit more of a narcissist than I had anticipated. Oh well.

Your post has a very strong voice! You like a lot of really cool stuff, which, by extension, means you're awesome. (:

And I do try to be as awesome as possible, it's true. I feel any day in which I do not do something awesome (whether it is considered awesome by the world or merely by me does not matter, as long as it is awesome) is a wasted day.
