Name: Kristen
Age: 20
Location: Massachusetts, USA
How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) straight ally, though if I met a woman I felt a connection with, gender wouldn't be an issue. It just hasn't happened yet/female
Interests/hobbies: reading, traveling, drinking tea, sitting on docks or the beach or on boats (I live on an island), writing, photography (though I'm really not good at it), yoga, languages, autumn, sledding, complaining about no longer living in London, kittens, puppies, driving, psychology, bookstores, American Sign Language, art, poetry, philosophy, walking, staying up all night talking.
Favourite books: The Little Prince, Middlesex, 100 Years of Solitude, I Know This Much Is True, She's Come Undone, The Corrections, Unbearable Lightness of Being, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, White Noise, Harry Potter, Catcher in the Rye, anything by Bill Bryson, Postcards From No Man's Land. I'm halfway through reading Water for Elephants and The Picture of Dorian Gray. I really, really love reading, haha.
Favourite films: American Beauty, Away We Go, Garden State, Sweeney Todd, Particles of Truth, Brokeback Mountain, Beauty and the Beast, Edward Scissorhands, Reefer Madness, Juno, Snowcake (I LOVE Alan Rickman), Psycho Beach Party, Clueless.
Favourite TV: Six Feet Under, Queer as Folk, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office (UK), 30 Rock, Extras, Buffy/Angel/Firefly, Summer Heights High, Dexter, Glee, How I Met Your Mother, Californication, Supernatural.
Favourite music: Ah. There's too much. I kind of like everything but rap/hip&hop. But some favorites are Third Eye Blind, Lady Gaga, Ingrid Michaelson, Ani Difranco, Alexi Murdoch, Tegan and Sara, Mumford and Sons.
What would you like to send/receive?: Anything really. I'm moving into my first flat in a month, and I love hanging unique/interesting things on my walls, so anything there would be cool. Handwritten letters, if possible. I'm a terrible artist, but I can send photographs and cute little things I find.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone. Preferably somewhere close to my age, but that's not a huge thing. Anyone who feels like we have something in common/could connect. People who wont mind that I send long letters. Open-minded people, people who love to read, people who want to travel. Or anyone that is unique, special, impulsive. I don't really, care--as long as we have something in common I'm sure I'll want to talk to you!
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Anywhere, but I can only read/write in English and maaaybe Spanish. However I'm trying REALLY hard to learn Spanish (I just went to Barcelona and Madrid, and Spain is probably my favorite country), so bilingual people would be amazing too. I'm find with people within America, but I'd love people from other countries as well. I just came back from studying in London, and miss it terribly, so anyone from the UK would be lovely. And anywhere else, because I love learning about new places/want to travel the world someday.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") scary things, dead things, harmful things.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: Art, a postcard from your area (I collect them), A GALAXY BAR!
Anything else you'd like to add?: Not that I can think of. If you have any questions, definitely ask!

Water for Elephants is SO good. I read like 10 chapters in a few hours because I CANNOT put it down. Your favorite book is the Hours, yeah? I bought that a few months ago but haven't read it yet... but I love Home at the End of the World by him!

Michael Cunningham is amazing. The Hours really, seriously, changed my life. I cannot recommend that book enough!
