Name: Lisa
Age: 20
Location: New England, USA
How do you identify?: I am really uncomfortable with labels. I don't feel particularly drawn to any sexuality/gender labels, specifically, but I'm repelled from others. I love "queer," let's leave it at that.
Interests/hobbies: Procrastinating, reading (specifically experimental genres, magical realism, poetry,) art (modern, specifically dada/surrealist/conceptual), avoiding being creative, making mixed cds/tapes, listening to music and dancing around by myself, live shows, taking baths, lighting candles n a non-neo-pagan way, feminism, gender/queer studies, riot grrrl, countercultures, subcultures, sociology, anthropology, folklore, fairy tales, social politics, gossip, junk food, secrets
Favourite books: My first and most important label, before human, is bookworm. Some important authors to me are Alice Hoffman, Francesca Lia Block, June Jordan, Charles Bukowski, Daphne Gottlieb, and Edward Albee. There are always more.
Favourite films: I am intrigued by Todd Solondz films. Otherwise, my personal film collection looks like it's owned by a male, gay, art, drug addicted snob. Take that for what you will.
Favourite music: I will be that douchebag who says that my music transcends boundaries... except it does. I have interests in all genre, but I am particularly intrigued by anything angry, loud, experimental, or from the first half of the nineties... let's talk blind melon and bikini kill.
What would you like to send/receive?: First I'd like to get to know you online, for a while. Than I'm open; I'd prefer commitment to long letters. Mixed cds are always loved.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: I'd like to meet people interested in queer politics/gender queer exsistence. While anyone is welcome, I love radicals.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to? Let's stick to America.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: Not particularly.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: A long, rambling letter from a friend written on interesting paper. A mixed cd/tape is a must, the more the better. Zines. Books. Artwork.
Anything else you'd like to add?: I feel disconnected from the queer community, and I feel invisible/underrepresented/empty. Help me fix that!
