What would you like to send/receive?: email or snailmail.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Pretty open right now... and also people who more or less relate to where I am right now? My partner and I are considering buying a home. We don't do the bars very much at all, are out to everyone, professionally and personally, and have a small circle of close friends. I'm a children's librarian, love to surf the 'Net, write, tho not as much as I'd like, and enjoy museums.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Any? As long as I can write in English. I am bilingual in Spanish but writing the language is a whole 'nother thing...
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") Well, Texas is crazy hot in the summer, so probably no melty candy during the summer. My lover and I are pretty liberal, so no conservative lit, and I was a lapsed Catholic but now I consider myself part of The Church of the Jedi (no, really. It does exist :-) so no religious tracts and such, please.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: A letter, doodle or artwork of some kind or mix CD and something snacky if you are so inclined. :-)
Anything else you'd like to add?: Since there is a typewriter on the profile I'm assuming word processed letters are okay? I will write longhand if you request but my penmanship sucks OUT LOUD, I am not even kidding. It's your eyesight! I blame the artistic gene...I promise the craftsy/doodle-y part will make up for it.

Date: 2010-06-22 06:43 pm (UTC)I added you as well, yes?
I love to get real mail and I'm glad you're okay with the word-processed letters. If I thought people could read my penmanship at all I would actually write; I know it's more traditional and prettier, but there's no way. I will sign a card and stuff but any more just turns into chicken scratch, regrettably.
It would be great to know another couple (relatively) close by!
Let me know when I can get to work on the first letter. :-)

Date: 2010-06-22 09:12 pm (UTC)I checked out your journal, too, Your userinfo doesn't say but it sounds like you either are now, or once were, an educator? I taught for four years before getting into librarianship. My four sisters and mom are still in the classroom and teach in Laredo, TX, so I'm the oddball. In several ways.
Are you interested in exchanging snailmail/email or just doing the LJ friendslist? Either way it is cool. I've added you as well.
Let me know!
