What would you like to send/receive?: Handwritten letters, anything snail mail really, but I am open to email if someone really wants to. There's just so much personality to a post marked letter! Ya know?

Who would you like to send/receive from?: Absolutely anyone who can hold a pen or type.

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: So long as you speak english, I'm fine with it. Though I do have an interest in french, so if you speak both and want to lord you bilingual state over me while teaching me some, I will be quite happy.

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: A body part.

What would be in your dream letter or package?: The most motley assortment of items possible. Old, old, old newspapers, heartfelt letters, statues, pressed flowers, anything! :D

Anything else you'd like to add?: I give pretty good advice, so if you contact me just for that, I won't mind.

Hi again!

Here I am, reposting.  My old entry is here, if you're interested.

Name:
  Melanie

Age:  19

Location:  Missouri, United States

How do you identify?:  It's complicated.  We can discuss it later.  :P

Interests/hobbies:
Music, video games (sometimes), art (more looking at it than creating it, these days), movies, writing, researching/looking at Wikipedia, reading (sometimes), people watching, vinyl (you know, records), typewriters, similar "old" things, yard sales (I'm a total old lady), defacing/destroying clothes, punk rock...  I spend most of my time just sitting around listening to music/on the internet/playing Sims 2.  It really is riveting.

Favourite books:  A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, American on Purpose by Craig Ferguson, Nineteen Eighty-Four  by George Orwell, Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs by John Lydon, Touching From a Distance by Deborah Curtis, Mysterious Skin by Scott Heim, On The Road by Jack Kerouac, anything by J.D. Salinger, anything by Charles Bukowski, anything by Chuck Palahniuk...  I've been getting into The Beat Generation, lately.  I like reading about people's life stories, too.  I'm not into young adult books at all, really (don't even get me started on Twilight).  My library's somewhat lacking (I do live in Missouri), so it's hard for me to find really great books, unless they're insanely cheap on Amazon, haha.

Favourite films:  A Clockwork Orange, Control (2007 film), Mysterious Skin, 1984 (1984 film), Bad Education (La mala educación), Zerophilia, Fight Club, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Adventures of Sebastian Cole, Snatch, Lock, Stocks, and Two Smoking Barrels, etc, etc.  I watch a ton of movies, but it's been a while since I've seen something amazing.  I'd love to swap some suggestions, though.  :D

Favourite music:  My last.fm page.  But if you lack ambition, here's a summary:  Punk rock's my life (to put it simply), but I generally listen to stuff from the 70's and 80's.  I'm real into post-punk and glam rock and ska and electronica and stuff like that.  You probably really should click on that link.  Some bands I like, though:  Joy Division, David Bowie, The Clash, The Fall, Wire, Bauhaus, Public Image Ltd., The Cure, Richard Hell, Gang of Four, Televsion, Buzzcocks, Iggy Pop, The Vibrators, T. Rex, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, Tricky, Tiga, Violent Femmes, Serge Gainsbourg, The Specials, Psychotica, Glampire, LCD Soundsystem, etc (not in that order).  If we have simliar taste in music, I do like to talk about it quite a bit.

What would you like to send/receive?:  Emails, IMs (I can be pretty slow to reply and boring, but if that's your thing...), mix CDs/mixtapes (when I get a good cassette player/boombox-type thing), snail mail... If you live outside of the US, though, I'm probably not sending you any packages.  I'm lazy/cheap.  And my handwriting's hard to read, so I prefer to type letters on one of my typewriters.  But really, that's subjective...

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?:  Anyone who's willing to put in the effort.  :P

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?:  Anywhere!  I'm really interested in Canada and the UK, so.... yeah.  But anywhere's great!  :D  (I only speak English, though.  My French is really too pitiful to carry on a conversation.)

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?:  Uh... food.

What would be in your dream letter or package?:
Art/writing.  You know, something created.  Handmade things and all that cal.  I get attached to weird little things like erasers and office supplies, too, so that could work.  XD

Anything else you'd like to add?:
I'm pretty slow to reply sometimes.  Slow as in like, 10 days.  So, sometimes I might need a little nudge to get going.

Picture:
All of my pictures suck/are a couple years old.  (But if you do a little cyberstalking, you're bound to come across some.)

Hi!

Reposting my info again.

Name:
Jennifer/Jen/Jae

Age:
22

Location:
Florida, USA

How do you identify?:
(sexuality/gender) Lesbian/Female

Interests/hobbies:
I read constantly, I’m trying to write a novel, thrift store shopping (I love a good bargain), video games ( I have 360, PS2, DS, Wii, and a NES), I’m on a music kick lately so lots of music listening, I’m trying to re-teach myself how to play the guitar, movie watching, I'm recently developed an obsession with fountain pens.

Favourite books:
Last I checked I had well over two hundred books. I think I like most books that I read, minus Twilight, I’m sure it’s the only book I actually threw at the wall in disgust. Harry Potter has been a love since I was a kid, Kat Richardson’s Greywalker Series, Marrion Zimmer Bradley (Mists of Avalon is probably the most re-read book in my collection), crime novels, Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta Series, Stephen King, pretty much anything to be honest.

Favourite films:
I love horror movies, zombie movies, sci-fi/fantasy movies, the occasional girly romance movie, Loving Annabelle, D.E.B.S, X-Files: Fight the Future, Star Trek:XI, Underworld, Resident Evil, Rose Red, Shutter Island, Soul Survivors. Most movies, except for a lot of comedy movies I don’t really like. For some reason my brain seems to feel deprived when it’s not having to think at all.

Favourite music:
With my new music kick I have going I’ll listen to anything. It really depends on my mood what I listen to. All around favorite is Something Corporate though. I have a lot of 80s and 90s song on my iPod.

What would you like to send/receive?:
Snail mail would be awesome.

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?:
No real preference. I can only read/speak English fluently. I may manage to read a bit of French (6 years of taking it and don’t remember much of anything).

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?:
Any. Letter postage isn’t that that bad, and with those new flat rate boxes it would be fairly cheap to send little gifts.

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?:
(eg. "food/candy with nuts") Uh, I don’t know? Nothing illegal I suppose. Maybe I watch too many crime dramas, but no body parts or anything of the like.

What would be in your dream letter or package?:
Longish letters, maybe a mix CD of favorite songs/artists, pictures/drawings, random gifts. Honestly, I’d just be happy with pretty much anything. I’m easy.

Anything else you'd like to add?:
I don’t really just my LJ for anything but writing ideas when I’m stuck somewhere without my computer or paper and pen. It’s also private, so there’s nothing there.
