I'm trying to learn Ukrainian which is very very similar (alphabet is a little definitely and pronounciation is a bit different). I want to learn Russian as well but I decided it would be easier to learn one after you've learned the other and I come from a Ukrainian family so I have more resources on my hands.

Date: 2010-09-14 08:28 pm (UTC)Ukrainian, huh? I have a friend with an adopted little brother from Ukraine. I'm interested in learning Greek, Arabic, and Latin too but they're not on top of the list like Japanese and Russian. But I don't know, I might take linguistics in college.

Date: 2010-09-15 02:24 am (UTC)are you finding russian hard to learn with having to learn a whole new alphabet and just the fact that the language is based from arabic instead of latin like english? that has been my biggest challenge with learning ukrainian is trying to move away from relating everything to our alphabet and the way our words are derived.
