Sep. 18th, 2011 04:45 pmName: Naomi :)
Age: 19 (20 in less than three months)
Location: London (home avec mes parents) and Durham, UK (uni)
How do you identify?: Bisexual female (I don't really like labelling my 'orientation'- I love who I love, y'know? So bisexual is, I guess, the closest.)
Interests/hobbies: Reading and writing, poetry, music, archaeology, ancient history, vintage clothes shopping, travelling, road trips, languages, photography, modern art, film, blogging, tumblr, stand-up comedy. I play drums, bass, piano, harmonica, and acoustic guitar. I write a style/culture/music blog over at blogger.com. I love going to gigs and festivals with my friends and family. I'm studying archaeology and ancient history but I don't really know what I want to do with my life.
Favourite books: Anything by William S. Burroughs, especially Junky. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The Paradise Trail by Duncan Campbell. DonDon by Nick Taussig. Anything by Oscar Wilde. Bright Shiny Morning. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. I live and breathe books.
Favourite films: Ocean's 11, Fired Up, the original Star Wars trilogy, Sherlock Holmes, Road Trip, A Hard Days Night.
Favourite music: Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, Queen, Guns N Roses, Nirvana, Poison, Mr. Big, Duff McKagan's Loaded, The Beatles, Rush, The Rolling Stones. Recently, I've been really into Arcade Fire and One Republic. I like anything with a good beat that I can dance or headbang to. Classic rock will always be my first love. Music is, hands down, the most important thing in my life.
What would you like to send/receive?: Long letters via snail mail. Interesting pictures you've taken or found. American food or things you can only buy in America (I'd send the English equivalent). Mixtapes/CDs. Poems and short stories.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: EVERYONE! Especially you :)
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: UK and America. Not adverse to Canada or Australia either. Or France, although my French isn't that good- it's be great to practice :)
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: Well, y'know, so long as it's legal, it's probablay okay :p
What would be in your dream letter or package?: A mixtape, some American/Australian/canadian chocolate, and a long handwritten letter :)
Anything else you'd like to add?: I did this once before but nothing ever really came of it so lets have another go :) I love NCIS: LA and Supernatural and pretty much anything Eric Christian Olsen's ever been in. I'm a sucker for guys with long hair and butch girls. I spend most of my life acting like a complete child. One day, I want to move to New York and join a band and travel the world. Or maybe be tour manager for Foo Fighters. I know everything there is to know about Bon Jovi. I love when a band or a song unites the whole audience and everyone's singing and everyone has this amazing connection. And the way a musician or a band can make 10,000 people shut up and listen with just one note. It's the most incredible feeling.

Date: 2011-09-18 09:03 pm (UTC)Totally agree with this, fully. HIGH FIVE!!!
Not a big SPN fan--I watch it occasionally, if I have cable and am up early enough, so I have an idea of what's going on. But I do love Queen, classic rock, and British candies. I live in America, but look for opportunities to travel to the UK. Also 19. PM if you want to learn more/trade info?

Date: 2011-09-18 10:32 pm (UTC)I can't think of anything cool to say, so I'll ask you a question: Do you like metal music?
Oh, and have you considered you may be pansexual? Just asking. ^_^

Date: 2011-09-21 09:29 am (UTC)I think I got into classic rock a bit before SPN because I remember GNR and Queen songs being my favourites as a kid but it's totally what pushed me into exploring the whole genre a bit more past my favourite bands!

Date: 2011-09-21 09:33 am (UTC)And I guess, yes, pansexual is a pretty good way of describing it. I've always liked the idea of 'gender-blindness' :)

Date: 2011-09-21 09:37 am (UTC)Love your username! Stargate fan? (I totally got into archaeology because of Daniel Jackson but don't tell anyone, it's a secret ;) lol)

Date: 2011-09-21 09:44 am (UTC)And oh, dude, no, you sound totally awesome! I can totally relate to the making jokes about rockstars that no one ever understands (except maybe my Mum and the related fandom)!
I love your choice of books (partly just because the list's so long), especially The Heroin Diaries (I have that book!) and the Odyssey and the Illiad (I'm supposed to have read both of them and I haven't done it yet :/)! Also, you like Star Trek- this clearly makes you awesome. I was such a Trekker when I was a kid (I have encyclopedias, so much authorised fic, a model combadge, a tee shirt, a mug... :O). And your choice of music rocks (although what, pray, is wrong with Chinese Democracy? I may be a bit of an Axl apologist... :/)- are you into like Foo Fighters and Rush and whatnot?

Date: 2011-09-21 09:47 am (UTC)I'm a mahooosive Queen fan. I even went to an astronomy convention in London just so I could meet Brian May and shake his hand. The geek in me would like to point out that actually going to an astronomy convention was pretty cool and actually no hardship at all...
And PMing shall happen :)

Date: 2011-09-21 11:50 am (UTC)I'm a huge Stargate fan. And I totally loved it for the archaeology, so I really adored Daniel as well. :)
Wanna become penpals?

Date: 2011-09-21 12:28 pm (UTC)Everyone always asks if I got my interest in archaeology from Indiana Jones and there faces're always so funny when I say yes but it was mostly Stargate!
And yes, that's be cool :)

Date: 2011-09-21 06:22 pm (UTC)I actually nicked that from wikipedia *hidces* But I agree, it's a beautiful way to put it and so true! I don't think we should pay so much attention to gender as we do.
