Name: Christy
Age: 21
Location: Scotland
How do you identify?: I’m not big on labels, but if I had to apply one I would probably consider myself a lesbian woman but I have had sexual contact with guys in the past. Still, I am primarily attracted to other women.
About me: What to say? I am currently enjoying the rather long summer between my third and fourth year of university. I study law at Edinburgh, and have a bit of a love hate relationship, i.e. when it’s stuff I enjoy, I love it, when it comes to referencing essays, I hate it. I’m generally a calm person and enjoy staying in just as much as I do going out. I’ve never been the most confident person I know, but I do try not to be too shy. I love animals, especially my cats, and I take waay too many pictures of them. I enjoy going out for drinks or something to eat, especially since apart from baking cakes and making desserts, I suck in the kitchen. I love the friends I have, but am always happy to have more. My friends would probably describe me as a little mad, loyal and funny, which all things considered isn’t too bad!
Interests/hobbies: Writing, reading, watching TV, going out for random excursions, going for drinks.
Favorite books/authors: Dean Koontz, Philippa Gregory, Tess Gerritsen, Kathy Reichs, Oscar Wilde, Ian Rankin, Scott Lynch, many of the classics...I’ll pretty much read anything that takes my fancy
Favourite Music: I’ll listen to almost anything, from rock to pop, country to classical. I play violin so I guess I have a bit of a weak spot for a gorgeous string melody.
Favorite movies/TV shows: Doctor Who, Grey's Anatomy, Rizzoli and Isles, Law and Order SVU, The Good Wife, ER, Harry’s Law, Prime Suspect, Hot in Cleveland – pretty much any courtroom/cop/medical drama, but then I also love a good chick flick (as predictable as they can be) or a comedy.
What would you like to send/receive?: Anything really. I do have to confess, I have a bit of a love for snail mail with nice stationary and stuff but I'm up for e-mail too and would love to send postcards occasionally or little trinkets, mixed cds, handmade stuff, doodles etc.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone, so long as they're open minded. Someone who likes to chat about all the random little things that make them smile and the things that interest them.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Anywhere! But I should point out that I only speak English.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: Not that I can think of – just nothing too weird, I suppose.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: Something to make me smile, whether that’s a long letter ranting about some random little thing that bugging you, telling about something you found that reminds you of old times, or just what was going through your head when you last walked through the park, or sat in a coffee shop because it was raining outside and watched the world go by. Maybe a few pictures, some little doodles or a trinket of some sort?
Anything else you'd like to add?: “No need to hurry. No need to sparkle. No need to be anybody but oneself.” (Virginia Woolf, A Room of One’s Own)

Also, since you made a warning of saying you were ginger - I should say I am totally pro ginger! lol x

Date: 2013-08-31 07:07 am (UTC)I'm pretty excited!
If you want to message your email we can exchange address and what not so we start writing letters!
Whoo! I'm pretty excited I haven't written a letter to someone in a long time. I think I am going to go to Hobby Lobby and find some stuff to decorate my paper with! Woot.
I didn't see a Hobby Lobby type store while I was in your neck of the woods. Its a big ASDA like store but focused on crafts, fabric, art, home decor, and seasonal decorations. They start putting up Christmas ornaments before the 4th of July! It's nuts...but I could totally become destitute from spending copious amounts of time and money in there...lol
:)
Also, YaY!
