How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) Female, lesbian(? - I currently have an amazing girlfriend with whom I'm trying to figure out the long-distance thing, I've only ever dated or been interested in women, I've never been interested in a male-identifying person, but I think that if I met the right male-identifying person, I wouldn't turn them down just because of their gender)
Interests/hobbies: music (I play guitar and piano, and I sing), reading, photography, animals (my family owns a lot of them, and I've been volunteering at an animal hospital), education, psychology, rowing
Favourite books: The Speed of Light by Elizabeth Rosner, anything by Christopher Moore, anything by Jeanette Winterson, Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, anything by Ken Follett, Waterland by Graham Swift, Descartes' Error by Antonia Damasio, On Intelligence by Jeff Hawkins, The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton
Favourite films: The House of Mirth, Gattaca, The Fountain, The Fifth Element, Definitely Maybe, The Prestige, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, the Underworld movies

What would you like to send/receive?: Letters are wonderful, but I'm open and easy to please with pen-pal type things.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone who enjoys the somewhat lost art of letter-writing (I love snail mail), someone who is willing to just tell me about their day
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Any, I guess. Though if I'm mailing anything internationally, it will probably just be letters.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") Things that are illegal to send through the mail?
What would be in your dream letter or package?: Well, right now, my dream letter would be one saying "We've enrolled you in this awesome grad school program and we're giving you a free ride and housing and a stipend!" or "We want you to come work at this awesome job which is a perfect fit for you and which pays amazingly well!", but I don't know how likely that is from this.
Anything else you'd like to add?: If I am your pen-pal, I will occasionally flake out on you, but I'll try to make it up to you. Also, I only read and write English because I am one of those sucky Americans who hasn't exposed herself to very much of world culture (though I can write about three words in Farsi).
