what a feeling in my soul

Name: Alyssa
Age: Seventeen (eighteen in October)
Location: New Jersey--but originally, I'm from Narnia. (;
How do you identify?: I'm female, biologically/anatomically, but I'm pretty androgynous, and I don't care if someone mistakes me for a male. (It happened constantly when my hair was shorter.) Sexuality-wise... I'm generally attracted to women, but I sometimes just throw up my hands and say, "I'm sexual, okay? Goddamnit."
Interests/hobbies: A brief overview? I love reading and writing things--usually of the (Glee) fan fiction variety, baking, listening (and singing horrendously) to music, and... well, I'm a squishy, sensitive artistic soul, when you get down to it.
Favorite books: God, I don't know. I like what I like, and I usually tend to forget my favorites after a while. One book I read recently that I liked was The Virgin Suicides, though--beautiful descriptions and morbidly attractive.
Favorite films: I'm a foodie, so I like any film that highlights food (like No Reservations or Last Holiday). I also like musically inclined films like Rent and Across the Universe. Oh, and The Nightmare Before Christmas was my childhood favorite, and still holds a special place in my heart today.
Favorite music: I have very eclectic tastes--not trying to come off as a pretentious ass or something. I listen to things like GaGa and Aqualung, Brit Pop and Indie, Glee covers and Tegan & Sara. (Tegan Quin = the sex.) Basically? I like what I like.
What would you like to send/receive?: I would love to send letters, obviously, and if I'm lucky enough to find someone else interested in swapping things like mix-CD's and recipes (ha, rhymed!), I will explode with glittery, musical happiness. I'm also interested in sending and receiving love and support, because I'm young and sort of unrehearsed in everything pertaining to love and sexual relationships (except for--well, I'll talk to you, as my pen pal, about it when it comes up). I'm very curious by nature, so I need someone comfortable with opening up about "taboo" subjects.
Pushing my own embarrassment aside, I would also like to receive sex paraphernalia, when I'm "of age" (eighteen, right?) and comfortable with you as my pen pal. I am, by no means, sexually active--I'm shy and antisocial in real-life situations, and I've got enough issues to make Dr. Phil lose the remainder of his hair--and I doubt that'll change anytime soon. But I can sure as hell Google-fu, and I love to read and write pretty hardcore smut, so I know some things, and think I'd like others. (Offhand note: I'm kind of curious about BDSM.) I'd have to really talk to you more about this, and you would definitely have to package things like these as inconspicuously as possible, but yeah. Just putting it out there.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Mm... I'm open to anyone, really, but it'd be nice to hear from someone roughly my age (17-20, maybe?), and those who identify as lesbian and/or FTM (of any... stage? Is that the right term?).
God, I feel like I'm making an ignorant ass of myself here. Haha.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: North America would be ideal for item-swapping pen als, but anywhere's alright as far as pen pals go.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: ...I can't say I can think of anything right at this moment.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: Anecdotes, favorite poems, doodles in the margins, letters written in pretty, colored pens, music recommendations, reassurances and whatever else brings my pen pal and I closer together despite the distance.
Anything else you'd like to add?: I'm really only looking for one or two pen pals right now, and while I'm not expecting a long-distance romance through the written word, I'm a very romantic, affectionate type of person. You've been forewarned.
