Name: Beth (Hi!)
Age: 16
Location: UK
Relationship status: Single Pringle.
How do you identify?: The so-called 'fairer' sex (although the biggest tomboy you've ever met, so maybe even genderqueer)/big fat GAYLORD - I've seen Meet The Fockers recently :P - so yep. Very very gay (I intensely dislike the word 'lesbian' for some reason).
Interests/hobbies: LJ owns my life, as does my iPod; veggiemalarian (vegetarian for any non-goofballs out there); writer; photographer; guitarist; singer; non-stop talker; giggler (I laugh loudly and often); learning new languages; meeting new people *cough, hint hint, cough*; travelling; learing about new cultures (particularly Asian - Singapore, China, Japan, India, Vietnam... you get the idea); wannabe interpreter; World Cup enthusiast; Manchester City supporter; David Bowie maniac; Dave Days (I love his videos, he cracks me up); comic-reader (and occasionally drawer/writer); Freddie Mercury fangirl. I LOVE HIM.
Favourite books: I read whatever I can get my hands on. I even read the dictionary when I was seven, for wont of something better to do. I like the His Dark Materials trilogy, the Artemis Fowl books, absolutely anything by Neil Gaiman (although his collaboration with Charles Vess - Stardust - and Neverwhere are particular favourites!), Chocolat, Five Quarters of the Orange and Blackberry Wine by Joanne Harris, Paul Stewart & Chris Riddell's Edge Chronicles/Muddle Earth, Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, SPUD, the Georgia Nicolson series (Angus, Thongs & Full-Frontal Snogging, Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas etc.) by Louise Rennison, Ballet Shoes, Chinese Cinderella, Lirael, Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, The Flowers of Evil by Charles Baudelaire, Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown... I could go on and on.
Favourite films: Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd (I'm a total sucker for a good musical), Pirates of the Caribbean, Austin Powers, The Boat That Rocked, Lord of the Rings, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Breakfast On Pluto, Stardust, In Bruges, Love Actually (and a sucker for a good rom-com. Love Actually is my all-time favourite movie, I think)... That's all I can think of for now.
Favourite music: Classic rock/rock'n'roll. The Beatles, The Kinks, AC/DC, GN'R, The Steve Miller Band, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, The Beatles, The Who, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Dire Straits, Queen (I'm obsessed with Queen.), Lynyrd Skynyrd, Def Leppard (I used to get them and Led Zeppelin mixed up, IDK why.), Van Halen, Bob Dylan, Elvis... And then Bob Marley & The Wailers, Regina Spektor, Oasis, Razorlight, Mika, Snow Patrol, The Fray, Franz Ferdinand, Mika, Madness, The Darkness, Coldplay, Green Day when I'm in the mood, The Sex Pistols, Eurythmics, The Clash, The Buzzcocks, Blondie, The Killers, Emmy the Great, Laura Marling. And then soundtracks. Loooove soundtracks.
What would you like to send/receive?: Letters, online and/or snail-mail. It feels like forever since I wrote an actual hand-written letter properly that wasn't for an exam, though, so I'd love to write some of those. My handwriting, though, is very... archaic, really, so you might have trouble reading it. :/
Who would you like to receive letters from?: Anybody who can put up with me long enough! Anybody and everybody, pretty much!
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?:No Man Utd supporters Just joking,
einsteinflygirl :P My parents aren't particularly generous with pocket money, it has to be said... But anyone, anywhere! As long as I can afford postage (and I don't mind saving up, but the letter'll be late if I do) I will write as often as I can!
Anything you would particularly NOT like to receive?: Apart from the obvious (I'm underage, so... No porn or anything sexual, please), food/candy with peanuts, dismembered hands and the like. Not that anyone here would send me a dismembered hand. Or I hope not. Those are my only requests! ^__^
What would be in your dream letter or package?: Music will always be a winner!; funny quotes; photographs of funny street names/signs/tree stump shapes etc.; jokes; newspaper clippings or articles; comics; drawings; writings in other langauges... You name it.
Anything else you want to add?: This could take a while. I have a tendency to drift off topic and just ramble about the most random things; I say everything that comes into my head; I love Monty Python; I will often spasmodically switch between English and whatever language takes my fancy; I'm very sarcastic sometimes (in Britain, sarcastic/deadpan humour is the best and never fails to amuse)... Um... Oh yeah, there's quite a lot of fanfic on my journal. Just a warning.
That and:
I love Batman. ^^
Picture: Sure thing!
(Curly-haired and mucking around with my camera)
(Wet-haired and smiling geekily)
(My favourite jumper and another dorky smile)
(Goofing about with my phone and being stupid in general)
Ooops, my face hasn't changed... but I've had about half a foot of hair chopped off since then :P It's up around my cheekbones now.
