Name: Elina, or SW if you wish.

Age: 28

Location: Finland

How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) Cis female, not very femme though. I guess I'm pansexual, although I'm not overly fond of the term.

Interests/hobbies: Books, fanfiction, bunny hopping (it's like showjumping but with bunnies and no riders), feminism, My Little Ponies (customising and collecting), riding whenever I can, which is sadly not often. Photography. I knit simple projects when the fancy strikes me, too. I'm also expert at making unsuspecting houseplants die for no reason.

Favourite books: I'm afraid too numerous to list... I like Terry Pratchett, Stephen Fry, Ben Elton, Oscar Wilde, Torey Hayden, Audrey Niffenegger, Harry Potters, anything that strikes my fancy. I read a lot of comic strips too. Not really comic books, although I do like Strangers In Paradise and Preacher.

Favourite films: Hannah Free, Star Treks, Pan's Labyrinth, Velvet Goldmine, Hedwig And The Angry Inch, Wilby Wonderful, Calendar Girls, Whole New Thing, All The Queen's Men, But I'm A Cheerleader, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pan's Labyrinth, the Hellboy movies, and I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting a ton. I watch a lot of movies, preferably women- or queer-centric. I'm open for recs!

TV: The aforementioned Star Trek, Due South, Queer As Folk, Crossing Jordan,
The Big Bang Theory, Buffy, Kyo Kara Maoh... My fav as a kid was the 90's remake of Dark Shadows.

Favourite music: Punk-pop such as Bowling For Soup and Nerf Herder, ABBA, Beatles, Beautiful South, Pet Shop Boys, David Bowie, Pulp, Meatloaf and some Finnish performers.

What would you like to send/receive?: I'm open to anything from e- to snail mail. No instant messaging though, I'm too old for that ;) Postcards would be great too, and small packages. I can be a bit slow, but I hope it just means I want to put thought into what I send :)

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone who's willing to exchange thoughts with me.

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: All around the globe. I'm fluent in English and Finnish, and can write a bit of Swedish. If by some strange coincidence you were studying Finnish, I'm willing to help with that :)

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") Nothing that won't survive the inevitable few days trip to here, and nothing you had to kill before mailing. No pornography unless discussed beforehand. I'd be most likely sending packages that fit through a letterbox, so I definitely won't expect anything bigger from you.

What would be in your dream letter or package?: Anything sent with care and thought. Postcards, teabags, a quick note in e-mail about your day. Photos.

Anything else you'd like to add?: I have terminal shyness which tends to be less obvious in written word, but I'm very willing to share my thoughts and hear yours. I aspire to be open and honest, because I feel that's the path to greater understanding. And I love Eddie Izzard's work with fiery passion.

Okay, I had to Google bunny-hopping. It's a sport I had never heard of, and I have to admit to being vastly amused by it. I'd love to hear more, and stories about it. Care to write?

We don't have much in common besides QAF, Due South, and Eddie Izzard, but I'd be open to writing if you were interested. Regardless, I have some great Due South communities I could recommend to you if you want.

Hi SW,

It is nice to read your post on LJ. Please feel free to check out my LJ profile, and let me know if you would be interested in corresponding. I think we have some similar interests. I also would love to hear more about bunny hopping! Is this like agility / obedience training for rabbits? I just finished watching "Watership Down" for the umpteenth time, and this film/book have made me a firm believer that rabbits are smarter and braver than we know.

Hope to hear from you soon...
goodall
