Name: Polly

Age: 21

Location: Just moved from Santa Barbara, California, and might go back this fall. But as of now, I reside in Denmark.

How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) People loving female.

Interests/hobbies: Traveling, writing, film studies, gender studies, music, languages, hiking, graphic design, photography.

Favourite books: I honestly don't read as much as I'd like. I have a ton of books that I need to read, but I read so much school-related stuff that I can't be bothered to read much else.. which is a huge mistake, I know. BUT! I do like The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini a lot, Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami (love that guy in general), Catcher In the Rye by JD. Salinger. I'm also reading Kathy Griffin's biography. I know! Not the most life changing book but it's fun. Forgive me. I'd love it if someone could help me discover great books.

Favourite films: I'm studying film so I'm a major film buff. I like old stuff as well as new. I think I like everything besides sci-fi. Also, Twilight, LOTR or Harry Potter was never really my thing. I can never pick my favorites, but if I have to name a few it would probably be: Forrest Gump, Double Indemnity, The Big Lebowski, Shawshank Redemption, Inglorious Basterds, Night Nurse, Juno, Donnie Darko, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, American Beauty, Some Like it Hot, Milk, 500 Days of Summer. Those are the ones on the top of my head right now.. will most likely change my mind later. :) Oh wait, of course I watch LGBT-related movies too. Love Imagine Me & You and the French Amour de Femme is pretty neat, too.

Favourite music: Music lover as well. Especially live. I'm the same with music as I am with movies. I appreciate lots of different genres, eras etc. Some of my favorite artists: She & Him, Fiona Apple, Ane Brun, Bob Dylan Jenny Wilson, Camera Obscura, Cat Power, Sia, Portishead, Ray Lamontagne, Fleetwood Mac, Belle & Sebastian, Tegan & Sara, Janis Joplin, Rufus Wainwright, Feist, Azure Ray, Camille, Norah Jones, Jeff Buckley, The Smiths, Lykke Li, My Morning Jacket and more.

What would you like to send/receive?: E-mails, letters, video messages/diaries - experiences, views & opinions, whatever. Can be anything, really.

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Would love to meet someone with similar interests but don't mind different culture, age, sexuality, religion etc at all! I love to meet new people. :)

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Any person who speaks English. I'm not picky. Or Danish, btw, but I doubt I'll find any.

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") Not really.

What would be in your dream letter or package?: Hand-written, personal letters = LOVE! But honestly.. My dream letter is any letter that is written in an interesting way. I love a good read, especially if it's personal and there is some thought behind and a personality shining through. Also, doodles, pictures etc are always cute. But a regular e-mail is fine as well. Again; Not picky, just looking for someone nice & fun.

Anything else you'd like to add?: I'm really open-minded, very friendly and understanding. I like to write A LOT and my e-mails tend to get semi-long. I've met several people online (met some of them in real life later) and have found that some of these friendships are the most meaningful, because a lot of people feel more comfortable opening up when it's not face to face. And I like to have someone to pour my heart out to and vice versa.

Picture (optional): This community is VERY open, so I choose to post a slightly more anonymous pic of myself. I will definitely send more if we get to know each other (or you can see lots on Facebook, if we ever get that far).

Okay one of your favorite books is Catcher in the Rye? That is awesome. Follow that up with Shawshank on your list of favorite movies (along side Donnie Darko, 500 days of Summer AND Some Like it Hot)...and than you close with Dylan, Joplin and the Smiths.

You. are. epic.

I've been living in Norway for about six months, though I'll be moving home at the end of July. :)

I absolutely LOVE Murakami. And the rest of the books you mentioned-- Catcher in the Rye is definitely on my list of "must read very soon" books.
Also, I would love to get into photography but have yet to take a class on film development.

So, here's where I get to the slightly silly part that reminds me of 2nd grade recess: Wanna be penpals? If you want to know more about me, here's my entry link: http://community.livejournal.com/queermail/134868.html . Feel free to message me if you'd like to exchange letters :]
