Jun. 27th, 2010 01:34 amYes, I know, you guys have been getting slammed with stuff because of the spotlight and you probably hate it. I just want to say that this is such a cool idea. I really love this. <3 (Note: Edited January 2011)
Name: I'm known on the internet as Ver. RL people call me Cris. Your preference, I'm totally comfortable with either one.
Age: 27. Virgo/Boar in case anyone cares. ^_~
Location: Upstate New York, US
How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) Definitely lesbian (Kinsey 5ish), but two men together is hot, as long as it's not TOO detailed. Don't ask, I honestly don't have an explanation for that one. It confuses me too. XD Possibly genderqueer. I'm still trying to figure that out. It varies from day to day.
Interests/hobbies: Reading, writing, video games, movies, anime/manga, roleplaying (text, in AIM and LJ), scrapbooking, photography, playing around with photoshop (but I'm so bad at it), fandom, anything I can't think of at the moment.
Favorite books: Oh jeez. My favorite EVER are the Dragonlance Chronicles (though pretty much every Dragonlance book is love). I love Harry Potter, The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia Wrede, everything I've ever read by Raymond E. Feist, the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich... obviously, my favorite genres of books are fantasy and mystery. I've also really loved everything I've ever read by Robert Cormier, though it's been a long time. I'm a history nerd, so I'll definitely read that kind of stuff too. I unfortunately haven't read a lot of queer fiction (I'm working on it), but I did really enjoy Am I Blue? Coming Out from the Silence. As far as manga goes, Hikaru no Go, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hourou Musuko, and Fruits Basket are definitely my favorites. But seriously? I'll read almost anything. I've even been known to read Danielle Steel when bored enough, and that's saying something.
Favorite films: In film, I mostly enjoy comedy and drama. And gay movies. The Broken Hearts Club, 10 Things I Hate About You, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Labyrinth, Practical Magic, Bobbie's Girl, The Road to El Dorado, Imagine Me and You, Better Than Chocolate, and probably a bunch more that I'm not remembering. I like movies. <3 For anime... Hikaru no Go, Fullmetal Alchemist, Prince of Tennis, Ouran High School Host Club, Fruits Basket, Chi's Sweet Home, Death Note, Eden of the East, Zombie-Loan... um, yeah, I could go on for a while, heh.
Favorite music: I'll listen to most things except rap/hip-hop, country, and opera... though there's an exception to every rule. My favorite band is Everclear. Saw them in concert once and it was AMAZING. <3 Other ones I really like are Cinder Road, Within Temptation, 30 Seconds to Mars, Evanescence, Goo Goo Dolls, Paramore, Matchbox 20, Three Doors Down, Nickelback, that sort of thing. I listen to a lot of 80's/90's music and anime opening songs too, because I'm a geek like that.
What would you like to send/receive?: E-mails/IMs/LJ comments at first, letters sometime down the road if we both decided we were comfortable with that. Sorry, I'm not giving my address to someone without getting to know them first. Packages are a possibility after letters, but rare ones.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: I'm open on this. I don't know any other languages besides English, though, at least not enough to write in, so being fluent in English is an absolute must. I can overlook some spelling/grammar issues, but I need to be able to understand you. If I can't understand what you're trying to get across, we're going to have problems. Also I'd prefer someone over 18. No offense or anything and it's not really a bias, I just... would feel like a total creeper exchanging e-mails/letters with a kid even though it would be completely innocent. I'm weird that way.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Anywhere, but if we're talking packages, that's probably hardly ever going to happen. Shipping is expensive, yo. Also, fair warning, out-of-country snail mail is likely to be pretty slow. Getting to the post office is a pain in the ass.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") Anything illegal, gross, or is going to be gross by the time I get it. Also anything expensive. It would make me feel horrifically guilty.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: Hmm. I don't really know. Something unique, I guess. I've never really thought about it. *shrug*
Anything else you'd like to add?: I swear a lot. I tend to ramble. I'm an atheist/agnostic mix (basically, I absolutely don't believe in any sort of God, but I'm willing to admit that I don't have a freaking clue). I'm cool with other religions as long as it's not shoved down my throat. Single, if that's important to you, but not looking for a relationship either. Uh... I'm not that interesting, really. XDDD I work as a photo lab technician. If there's anything else you'd like to know, ask. Or check out my journal. I'm more or less an open book, at least online.
Picture (optional): Here, have a crappy webcam pic. I don't photograph well anyway. :P
