Name: Lex

Age: 25

Location: CANADA!

How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) I'm straight, but very involved in the gay world. I'm not sure a better way to put it. All my gal pals are gay, I'm probably the biggest hag you'll ever meet. I have also been described as having an inner gay man.

Interests/hobbies: There's a lot I love. I'm very much into crafting, I see things and try to figure out how I can re-create them. I like photography but cannot afford a camera that would do it justice. I love TV, and luckily for me I have been able to meet a lot of my fav actors (fangirl). I love vintage, often being told I was born in the wrong era. Love reading. Really, I am someone who just sees things and thinks "wow, that could be fun". I have a passion for green living!

Favourite books: Classics (Austen, Anne of Green Gables), autobiographies, love the series by Louise Rennison

Favourite films:Gone with the wind, pixar films..Really I like to try anything, so its very hard for me to nail down things. I have more TV show loves; Queer as folk, Law and Order, Gossip Girl, True Blood, Big Love, Modern Family,30 Rock, Arrested Development, L word..the list goes on.

Favourite music: Anything but hardcore rap.

What would you like to send/receive?: I love mail, but email is a tad more convenient. I love getting brown paper packages, tied up with string..I'm a gift giver too, but I would prefer to get to know people first!

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?:Anyone, I'm not picky!

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Anywhere! I love to experience everything and I'm very curious about things, so the more I can learn about different cultures, cities, people..I love.

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") Someone mentioned no nude photos, I DO NOT want those. I'm not a fan of seafood, and I tend to like more practical items then things that get thrown away.

What would be in your dream letter or package?: I have gotten carried away with my amazon wishlist, honestly I would love to have a complete series of tv shows from there, or just a box filled with lush items..or just something cool. I love themes so anything that is themed is awesome with me!

Anything else you'd like to add?: I'm pretty good at listening to others and have been told that I give good advice..if you're looking for anything.

Picture (optional): Not something I really feel like sharing at the moment.

Awesomness!

I'm not in the gay world, I have one gay friend, but I totally support it. I donated to the No on 8 campaign, I followed the trial here in California on Prop 8, I'm just totally against hate. This might sound odd, and maybe I've just fallen for the Hollywood sterotypes, but I love gay people. Living in San Francisco you would think I'd have a ton of LGBT friends or something but I tend to be a little anti-social IRL.

It is kind of funny, all of your hobbies are on my "I wish I could" list. I am so not creative and am very bad at crafting, everything I do turns out looking like my 6 year old nephew did it. I love taking photos but they never turn out great, I just don't have the eye for it. But I am a great admirer of both things.

I love TV, I watch a ton of TV shows but I always seem to miss the boat on the popular shows. For example, I was never a Lost fan.

You seem like a really cool person!

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm a perfectionist but I will say I don't like failure, so if something doesn't turn out as well as I had wanted then I tend not to do it again. Probably not the best way to live life but everybody has their issues. LOL

That is so great that you are so accepting and comfortable enough for the people around you to be their real selves, that can be hard to find.

I loathe reality tv shows but back when I had a bigger cable package, I watched The Real Housewives. I never, ever thought I'd be one to get sucked into something like that but it came on after a West Wing marathon and I got sucked in. Back then there was only the OC and NYC though. I will say that one bad thing about not being a fan of popular TV shows is come renewal time there is always drama. For example, I am a huge Chuck fan, and we were lucky to get a season 2. But I'd rather not be a pod person and watch whatever has the highest ratings just because everyone else is either.

And I don't know if me calling you cool really means all that much. I normally get weird or dorky but someone was kind enough to call me quirky once! :)

Awww, that's sad. I have a friend who was big fan of that show, they're supposed to eventually make a movie though right?

So what you're telling me is you turn people gay? LOL. That is odd but perhaps you just happen to meet people when they're figuring themselves out? All of the gay people I've met (they're all men now that I think about it) have always known that they were gay but I also know it isn't uncommon for people not to be aware. I read an article about this new trend of lesbians, more of them are coming out after having been married. Actually, here's the article if you're interested in reading it. (http://www.oprah.com/relationships/Why-Women-Are-Leaving-Men-for-Lesbian-Relationships-Bisexuality/1) If I recall, the article makes the point that for women sexuality is more fluid.

That might be a good thing. My precious Dead Like Me was canceled after two season, they made a movie and it was *horrible*!

Yes, I saw TS3 opening weekend. I thought it was wonderful even though the ending totally made me cry! You?

I didn't want to respond on Ari's post (http://community.livejournal.com/queermail/166268.html?thread=1041788) but yeah meeting Alan Rickman was awesome. He signed my Love Actually DVD and my little fangirl heart almost burst! He'll be back in NYC in January to do a play and I totally intend to go see it!

Like I said previously, you seem super cool! I'd love to correspond if you'd like. My email is cabooklover at gmail.com :)
