Jun. 28th, 2010 02:39 pmName: Lizzie / Lilly
Age: 28 but very nearly 29
Location: Sheffield, UK
How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) Um, yes. I don't like labels so I'm not quite sure what I count as. I think "pansexual" if I had to label, but currently in strictly monogamous relationship with man.
Interests/hobbies: This is harder than I thought. I like cooking, sewing, knitting, writing, that sort of thing. I used to go belly dancing and I need to start again (hoping to do so in September), I also want to take up yoga. I probably read far too much too (even things like the pizza menu and sauce bottles - anything I can get my hands on really!) I also play fiddle (violin) and piano, though after my brother broke mine when I was moving house I haven't played it in far too long.
Favourite books: Pride & Prejudice, Jane Austen's other books (except Emma, not massively keen on that one), The Reader by Bernhard Schlink (I haven't dared watch the film for fear of shouting too much), Agatha Christie's Marple & Poirot, The Siege of Krishnapur by J. G. Farrell, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy by John le Carré, to name a few. Oh, and Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne.
Favourite films: Pride & Prejudice (BBC version - does that count?), Cry Baby, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Shrek 1 & 2, Biggles, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride (though I used to hate it!). I don't like horror or zombies. Especially zombies.
Favourite music: Rock, some metal - favourite bands include Queen, Bon Jovi, Amon Amarth, Audioslave, Alice Cooper. I also like some folk music and Johnny Cash.
What would you like to send/receive?: I like writing, sometimes I write too much. Real letters are better than e-mail in my opinion, but I would happily e-mail for a while first.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone really. Prefer over 18 (and I shamefully can't speak any other languages)
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Any country is fine
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts"): Anything really weird. Or perishable. Or dead. Unless it's pressed flowers. That'd be quite cool.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: I really couldn't say. I like things that mean something to people, something you've seen and thought "that's really cool / sweet / amusing. I'll send that to my friend"
Anything else you'd like to add?: I have been hiding on here in the background for a few days wondering if people would be interested in writing to me, and if I should post a comment or not, but lacking the nerve. Hopefully others will not feel this shy...
Pictures:

First is me at Whitby in August last year at the start of the Folk Week, and the second is me with my mam in Cardiff for the Six Nations rugby this February.

Date: 2010-06-28 06:48 pm (UTC)(If you'd like to know a little bit more about me, this is my dreadfully boring profile (http://community.livejournal.com/queermail/127252.html). I really should do a rough draft of these kinds of things before I post them for all the world to see. Anywho! Nice to meet you!)

Date: 2010-07-08 03:55 pm (UTC)First of all, I approve very very mightily of your music choices! :D Especially Queen (my journal shows off just how obsessed I am with Queen - I even scare myself sometimes.), Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper and Johnny Cash.
Secondly, Cry Baby is quite possibly my favourite Johnny Depp film (I hope I'm thinking of the same one, I've heard there's another film with the same title although I couldn't tell you for the life of me what the other's about.), I love Shrek (personally I thought #3 was pretty weak, though) and Lord of the Rings, and the BBC's Pride and Prejudice is much better than the Keira Knightley (*shudder*) movie version.
Thirdly (and out of order >.<) I like Pride and Prejudice (the book) too, and the Winnie the Pooh books by AA Milne. (Although the Thomas The Tank Engine original stories by WH Audrey were my favourites when I was a kid.)
Fourthly, this is a horrendously long comment. Sorry. :P
I'm only 16 though ): I feel like a baby.
Still, hi anyway and sorry for spamming your post!

Date: 2010-07-22 11:54 am (UTC)You didn't spam my post - it's good to hear someone else out there knows 'Cry Baby' (yes, it is the Johnny Depp one, and I think it's my favourite too!)
So, yes. Do you want to converse? You sound fun! :)
