Name: Ruby
Age: 16, but 17 in August.
Location: Texas.
How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) Bisexual female. ^_^
Interests/hobbies: I write a LOT. I write novel-length things, short stories, song lyrics, journal entries, fanfic, random other crap. I'm currently working on my memoirs. I make YouTube videos, and watch certain television shows religiously. I sing, kinda play guitar, kinda play piano, and drink too much coffee. My dream is to be a director of television/film.
Favorite books: Harry Potter series, Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You (Peter Cameron), the Alcatraz Smedry series, anything by Ned Vizzini, anything by John Green, anything by Scott Westerfeld. I love Shakespeare's plays (even though I haven't read them all yet...), and Edgar Allan Poe's and Christina Rossetti's poetry.
Favorite films: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Back to the Future parts 1 and 2, School of Rock, Newsies, Josie and the Pussycats, Better Off Dead, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Psycho, The Birds and...other stuff. I watch too many movies.
Favorite music: The Beatles, The Killers, Fall Out Boy, AC/DC, wizard rock bands like The Remus Lupins, the Mudbloods (Adam Dubberly), the Whomping Willows; more non-wrock bands like Heffron Drive, Belle & Sebastian, Drake Bell, Ramones, Oasis, the Moldy Peaches, Jeffrey Lewis, Jenny Lewis, Kimya Dawson, Gavin DeGraw...I listen to a LOT of music...
What would you like to send/receive?: Snail mail. :)
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Erm, people? Who share some of my interests. Male or female, any sexuality, doesn't matter.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Just the US for now, probably Canada later on. Or anywhere, but it would have to be email in the case of way far outside the US.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: I live in a apartment, so really big packages wouldn't do.
What would your dream package contain?: Mix CDs. And, y'know, letters.
Anything else you'd like to add?: "It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live."
Picture (optional): Picture later.

Date: 2010-06-28 06:58 pm (UTC)I'm a singer, guitarist and pianist too (none of which I do very well :P) I also approve of your Shakespeare/Edgar Allan Poe admiration :D I'm a Poe fan myself, and I'm a shameless fangirl for Romeo & Juliet. But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun... D'you like Oscar Wilde at all? Oscar Wilde is - was - amazing :)

Date: 2010-06-28 08:23 pm (UTC)Romeo & Juliet is amazing, I'm actually kind of a Mercutio fangirl. -facepalm-
And Oscar Wilde! I love him. The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of my favorite books ever. (Why'd I forget it on the list? Huh.)

Date: 2010-08-30 03:34 am (UTC)lol Mercutio was a major win! I almost cried when he died! I adored his role!
I spent two hours once trying to convince my theater teacher that I should either be Mercutio or Romeo (because he'd casted me as juliet even though I didn't audition for the role...) I kinda won in the end because I was casted as Romeo, but I would have like Mercutio better... XDDD
And The Picture of Dorian Gray is such an amazing book, and Poe is one of my heros!!!

Date: 2010-06-29 07:55 am (UTC)And I have a terrible, awful music confession to make. I have never listened to anything by Belle and Sebastian beyond a delightfully chaotic version of "The 12 Days of Christmas." What would you recommend, as a near-complete Belle and Sebastian virgin? Whole albums or songs, whatever would give me the best idea.

Date: 2010-06-29 09:52 am (UTC)The song and the album The Boy With the Arab strap are among my personal favorites, along with a smattering of songs from The Life Pursuit (White Collar Boy, Funny Little Frog, Sukie in the Graveyard, The Blues Are Still Blue...actually, never mind, just that whole album.) Then their two songs on the Juno soundtrack are quite awesome. (Honestly, I only those two albums plus the soundtrack, but seeing as how I listen to them ridiculous amounts, they make my favorite bands list.)
