How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) Queer female. Most of the people I'm attracted to are women but there exceptions. The terms bisexual and lesbian both don't feel quite right for various reasons so queer it is.
Interests/hobbies: I hope to be a professional author someday so I spent a lot of my time writing, mostly fiction. I read quite a lot. I also love knitting, mocking bad movies, and rambling and am very interested in feminism and queer theory and sociology.
Favourite books: Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison, The Secret History by Donna Tartt, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, White Oleander by Janet Finch, The Blind Assasin by Margaret Atwood, The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides, I could go on and on...
Favourite films: Almost Famous, Pan's Labyrinth, Spirited Away, Milk, V for Vendetta
Favourite music: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, The Killers, The Magnetic Fields, Arcade Fire, Neko Case, and Sleater-Kinney
What would you like to send/receive?: E-mails in the beginning and later on snail mail. I'd love to swap mix cds and almost anything you'd like to send in a package would be great.
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone who's interested in talking to me and thinks that we would get along
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Anywhere's good
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") I'm fine with talking about sex with someone I consider a friend but not with receiving pornographic or other adult material (at least without giving notice or permission and even then it'd have to be under the right circumstances). I'm in a long-term monogamous relationship with a girl I adore so if you're looking for a sexual or romantic bond I'm not the person for you.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: A nice long letter, an awesome mix cd, and maybe a cute little thing that my penpal made or bought, something that's uniquely them.
