Hello queermail!
Aug. 30th, 2010 05:40 pmName: manuela
Age: almost 31, which is probably the age when it begins to be fun being mistaken for 25
Location: Germany, up in the North near Hamburg
How do you identify?: I prefer men but women's lips are fine, too. I'm female, labels confuse me as they leave so little room for exceptions.
Interests/hobbies: I love to read! Being stuck in traffic is no wasted time when you have a book with you. I quit playing the drums years ago but the passion never ceased. Last year I started to play the violin because it's never too late for something (..if you like the challenge..)
My geeky obsession are languages and words, I like ships and soccer and of course penpalling (is that a word, actually? I think I read it somewhere..)
Favourite books: This is going to be a long list, to make it shorter I'll just drop some names: Neil Gaiman, John Steinbeck, Frank McCourt, Jane Austen, Franz Kafka..sooomeone stop me!
Favourite films: There are some movies I like so much I could watch them again - I never do. It takes a big bowl of popcorn and a really entertaining movie to keep me from getting up and doing other stuff instead. Favourites... I couldn't think of any title now but if you suggest one I'd probably say 'oh yes,I remember now, I liked that one!'
When it comes to movies I'm a brainless consumer.
Favourite music: Somewhere along the way I lost the habit of having a favourite band or a favourite genre. When did it happen? I don't know. I couldn't even name that little something that makes a song good, except for the drums of course, quite often I detect some Blues influence that does it. I find music that I like in almost any genre and I'm sorry to give such a inaccurate picture of my taste, I can't help it!
I could point you to certain songs I like especially - how about link-swapping?
What would you like to send/receive?: I really like little items that seem random and average but coming from my penpal, with a little note and a story perhaps, makes them special. Anything from other countries is interesting, even just a foreign receipt or an ad postcard is cool. I'm weird, I know. It would be perfect if there was someone who liked stuff like that as well, little somethings like tea bags and anything else that fits into an envelope.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Due to the evil postage issue Europe only, please. Germany would be fine, too.
Your age doesn't matter, nor does your gender or orientation, naturally.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?:
Although my sense of humour seems to lean towards the darker side there are things I have a very firm attitude about. Anything that links to animal cruelty is a No Go, even unintentionally. A dressed up orang-utan is not funny but totally ruining the joke, considering the time before and after that short moment.
Anything else you'd like to add?: I'd like to end this on a light note but can't think of anything to turn this whole thing around.
Oh, and I'm looking for snail mail pals only. I know e-mails are so much cheaper, quicker and more convenient, but I just can't keep it up. It's so much better to receive real mail, write on actual paper and all that oldfashioned stuff!
Picture (optional): We can exchange pics later if you like (that's what e-mails are good for!)

By the way, I'm 31 and it is awesome when people think I'm 25. : )
