This is a repost! And so she does not think I am terrible if she still reads this: Eeri, I actually do have a letter for you! I uh. Just have not sent it. You moved to Boston before I could! Message me your new address?

Name: On the internets I go by Edie, which is pronounced ee-dee – Eeds and Ed are both variations I use a lot.

Age: I am 23 this September.

Location: Outside of Boston, MA.

How do you identify?

I am a queer lady! I am essentially a tomboy-girl who likes other girls / female bodied people. I identified as a Plain Old Lesbian until I started dating my genderqueer gentleman and slightly reconsidered my need to put myself in that box. I think ‘queer’ nicely covers what I am. Plus it is a fun word!

Interests/hobbies:

I have been riding horses since I was very small. It is one of my biggest running obsessions and I consider myself horse-hearted, a term I totally stole from Tamora Pierce (special cookies if you can tell me who describes herself as such).  +   I’m a writer. My senior Independent Study was a poetry collection called Etiologies; 46 poems and 30 pages of critical analysis later, I finally feel like I can call myself a poet. If you’re interested in what I write, you can find me at www.amethodicalmadness.blogspot.com (shameless plug).  +   I sing alto, and I’m a contra dancer. I am pretty good at it, if I may boast! It makes me really happy.  +   I talk to myself rather often, both in my head and out loud. I still have imaginary friends, the most common of which are Red, a Utahraptor, Ruth, a human girlthing, and a female spotted hyena.  +   I am really good at Taboo.   +   I enjoy drinking games based on Settlers of Catan, and I play D&D.  +  I love music and arguing and cuddles and animal bones.

Favourite books:

I return constantly to books by Tamora Pierce, Robin McKinley, Diane Duane, Neil Gaiman, and Terry Pratchett.

To be more specific, I love American Gods, Sandman, The Garden, fairy tales, Maya’s Harry Potter fanfiction, The Shoebox Project (“Girl, girl, you are a girl.”), Marguerite Henry, The Hunger Games, The Sparrow, Children of God, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Annie on My Mind, House at Pooh Corner, Mercedes Lackey, The Jungle Book, Peter Pan, and The Essential Rumi. I also enjoy reading my NaNo from freshman year and giggling.

Favourite films:

The Last Unicorn, Arsenic and Old Lace, What’s Up Doc?, The Trouble With Harry (hint: the trouble is that he’s dead), 8 Femmes, La Boum (please please someone know this movie). Stranger Than Fiction, Hook, New Moon (I laughed so hard I cried), Star Trek, Peter Pan. Ummm. I may come back, I can never remember movies. I am also a fan of Doctor Who, Black Books, Modern Family, Glee, Mythbusters, Ace of Cakes, CSI, and The Middle.

ALSO THE PRINCESS BRIDE DUH.

Favourite music:

Folk and fiddle is always good. I’m on a Carbon Leaf kick right now, generally I like Keith Murphy, Hanneke Cassel / Halali, Great Big Sea, the Chieftans, Nancy Griffith, Dar Williams. Catie Curtis. Solas. Amanda Palmer, the Dresden Dolls. Broadway music – Wicked, RENT, Les Mis, Le Roi Soleil. Nightingale, Girlyman, Nickel Creek.

What would you like to send/receive?

Ooh. I am up for almost anything! Weird things one of us finds at yard sales or thrift store, hand-written letters, poetry, drawings. If you happen to be a fellow bone-collector, I would not argue with bits of bone and fur. Music.

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?

Excellent people. People with a solid sense of humor. People who speak and write English. I do speak French, but I don’t write it terribly well. I’d love to hear from Aussies, I spent six months there and miss it.

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?

Any and all, as long as we have a mutual language – but I would rather start out with emails, if it suits, as I like to know people before giving out my address.

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?

Body parts. Illegal things. Boring things! Um. Your fingernail shavings?

What would be in your dream letter or package?

Oooh dear. Ideally it would have some music I have never heard, a book I have never read, a candy I have never tried, a handwritten letter, a peculiar and unexplainable trinket, a poem or short story or drawing you’ve done. Surprises.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I am very small and gleeful. I like puns. I wish to be a mahout. I prefer an even number of M&Ms. I walk dogs for a summer job, but I want to work as an editor or in publishing.

Picture (optional):

My brother is a photographer. I am a guinea pig sometimes.

Hey there.

Really I look like this though.
My ankle was broken.

True story: when my university screened New Moon last year, I left halfway through it , went back ot my dorm room, got a bucket and a posterboard, and wrote "HELP CLOTHE THE UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH OF FORKS, WA!! NOW ACCEPTING CASH DONATIONS TO HELP BUY SHIRTS!" and shouted things like "You've seen how they live, it's terrible!" and "Being a werewolf isn't a lifestyle choice!"
I made $2.87

I'd love to talk writing (among countless other things) with you! And I have a few bones that I've been wondering what to do with for quite a while that I'd let you have. I'm more of a rock collector myself. Here's my entry! Drop me a line if you're interested :D

(I think I win a prize for longest response to an intro post.)
