What would you like to send/receive?: E-mails, Instant Messages (my meds don't allow my hands to stay steady enough to write properly anymore)
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: People with similar interests.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Anywhere really, as long as English is used- mainly because I have only two years of French from high school (a decade ago), one single semester of German, pitiful Portuguese (my family are from Brasil, and while I can understand it spoken to me, about 60-70%, I'm terrible in speaking/writing it back), and I have only done one self-taught unit/chapter of Norwegian [Bokmål]. I wouldn't mind getting mail/packages from anywhere, but I am pitifully unemployed and don't have money to send out mail/packages internationally- therefore I'd prefer e-mails and instant messaging, because then no one is left out on the mail/package side.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: If someone really truly wants to send me something and can't be dissuaded, please don't send me food unless it is confirmed with me. My meds have totally ruined my appetite to the point that the wonderful things I used to love to eat taste particularly revolting to me and don't stay down. So if you're going to send food, ask me first. I'll tell you what'll stay in my stomach. I'd hate for food to be wasted.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: mix cd, zines (preferably having to do with queer goodness or mental illness/mental health), pocky, fortune cookies- anything really...
Anything else you'd like to add?: Just in case I've confused everyone here by my references to meds- I'll be honest and tell you I am being treated for chronic insomnia and chronic/major depression. However, as I am thoroughly med-compliant, I am fine and well. Just wanted to say this so people know what they're getting. Honesty is my bread and butter. Also, most of the time I tend to be split between my two general moods/personaliies- I'm either forthright, brutally honest, sarcastic, pithy, cynical, clever, morbid, and generally jaded or I'm in a random/quirky sort of mood. When in that mood I love to laugh, watch British comedies, do insane/mischievous things, or otherwise get geeky/nerdy and academic. Though, when I have episodes, I tend to get very moody, melancholic, sad- you get the idea.
Picture (optional): The one time I looked like I could be Draco Malfoy's doppleganger. This is my actual hair color and what I look like most of my days (excepting my hair style is a bit different now). This is just a humor shot of me in my crazy color clashing glory (apologies for the awful quality- taken from my camera-phone).

Date: 2010-11-28 10:14 pm (UTC)I'd be interested in exchanging letters! My post (having finally found it) is here: http://community.livejournal.com/queermail/192097.html
That's a bit easier than trying to write out stuff about myself again. :) If you're interested, email me (aissymi@gmail.com)

Date: 2010-11-28 11:21 pm (UTC)Normally I'd love more than anything to write letters like I used to. I miss it, but unfortunately I'm on medications right now that cause my hands to shake a lot. I can write, but anything longer than a small paragraph gets tricky. I have to write so slowly to make my writing legible- which makes my hands sore from having to grip and press so hard and for an extended time.
We can do instant messenger or exchange e-mails and maybe we could friend each other because I tend to write a lot of my journey and battles with my major depression and my traumas in my journal anyway.
Let me know what you think. If had my own printer, I could easily type my letters, but I don't and I have no money to be paying for printing out said letters, you see.

Date: 2010-11-28 11:34 pm (UTC)p.s. I know I'm quite weird and socially awkward. Occupational hazard from being far too cerebral for my own good. :-)
