How do you identify?: Gay female
Interests/hobbies: Letter writing (obviously!), watching any films I can get my hands on, walking and relaxing barefoot in the forest, religion and religious symbolism, feminism (the real kind - equal rights), painting, music, making things from clay, searching out rare/cheap/unsual things, video games.
Favourite films: I'm beginning to get into Swedish cinema, but I'm still new to it! I also like Asian cinema, so erm, foreign films? My favourite directors are Kevin Smith and David Lynch, although I've got a bit of a soft spot for John Hughes films. I'm a fan of horror and "disturbing" movies too.
I'll watch most things, but my two least-watched genres are sci-fi (though I do love the Star Trek movies) and action.
Favourite music: Riot grrl and twee. My favourites are Bratmobile, Team Dresch, Sleater-Kinney, Hole, Cub, The Butchies, Alanis Morissette, Tracy Chapman, Nirvana, Leonard Cohen, Bonnie Tyler, Mudhoney, Nelly, Ani Difranco, Simon & Garfunkel, X-Ray Spex, Kyuss, Norma Jean, Los Campesinos!, KMFDM, Shonen Knife, Ska-P and MU330.
What would you like to send/receive?: Some good letters!
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone really.
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Any, UK included. I have one or two foreign penpals so I don't mind if you're not from somewhere "exotic."
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") I'm a pescetarian, so while I doubt anyone plans on sending steak or pork chops in the post, please make sure you don't send anything with meat in it! I'm also allergic to tartrazine (E102 or yellow 5) so while I can handle a bit of it, I can't eat things like Wotsits or cheese balls that are often loaded with it. General rule is if it glows bright orange, it's out.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: A mix CD, a long letter, maybe a poem or drawing, some photos, something nice you've found (I'm talking plain old pebbles or junk here), maybe a snack or small gift occasionally. I really don't expect anything pricey or fancy, I just want a good friend.
Anything else you'd like to add?: I'm looking for someone to be real friends with. I've become close with my other penpals and I'd like that to happen with someone else. I only want friends though, no flirty letters! I'm in a very happy relationship at the moment :) Also, make sure you tell me about yourself if you do want to be friends, I hate going into penpalling without knowing much about the other person, and feel free to ask questions about me too :)
