Interests/hobbies: I'm a literature student at university. I'm very interested in poetry, queer politics, emotions, challenging the injustices in the society that I live in, everything retro (dancing, fashion, etc.), astrology, self help books, drawing (I'm an amateur), photography, personal philosophies, animal rights, and making friends.

Favourite books: A sampling of my favourite authors: John Donne, Andrea Gibson, Jodi Picoult, Margaret Atwood, Ellen Hopkins, Allen Ginsberg, Charles Dickens, Daphne Du Maurier, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Amy Tan, Philip Roth.

Favourite films: The Believer, Lars and the Real Girl, The Great Gatsby, Broken, Compliance, Catfish, RENT, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Ginger and Rosa, Harry Potter, Clueless. I like movies that don't have a formulaic storyline, movies with provocative subject matter that make you think. My favourite actors are Carrie Mulligan, Ryan Gosling, Ellen Page, and Emma Stone. My favourite TV shows are: Supernatural, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Upstairs Downstairs, The Mighty Boosh, Black Books, Faulty Towers, Portlandia, Will and Grace.

Favourite music: I have a vast range of musical tastes. Indie and alternative are my favourites, but also oldies, jazz, classical, electronic, pop, and the occasional rap/hip hop if it's particularly interesting. Owl City, Amanda Palmer, My Chemical Romance, Nirvana, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Fall Out Boy, Marianas Trench, Gold Motel, Regina Spektor.

What would you like to send/receive?: I would really like to have some email penpals, but I am open for snail mail as well. Letters, postcards, and the occasional package would be very fun. I'd like something to look forward to every week.

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: People who are interested in literature, social issues, LGBT issues, tiny things that make each day exciting, other cultures, pop culture, sharing funny everyday incidents, and sharing secrets, dreams, and fears. I love to learn from other people's opinions and politics. Open-mindedness is crucial.

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: Probably not food, but otherwise I think anything is good.

What would be in your dream letter or package?: I love stickers, doodles, and magazine clippings. A great package include a book or interesting magazine, a custom playlist, stationary, beaded bracelets, and a stuffed animal. (I can dream, can't I?)

I'm also studying literature. I was impressed to see Daphne du Maurier on your list of favourite authors. She's one of my favourites as well - her work is remarkable.
We seem to have a lot in common. I'm also interested in LGBT politics and animal rights. I think it's important for people to be aware of those sorts of things. The government seems to keep them swept under the rug whenever possible, and all that does is condone ignorance, which causes more troubles for Society. I like to talk about things like that, and, of course, books. If you want to be email or snail-mail penpals, drop me a line :)
