What would you like to send/receive?: Emails, short stories I've enjoyed/written, interesting articles I've stumbled upon, cute cartoons and animals. I'd love to receive anything I'd like to send!
Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Anyone really!
What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: Having an international pen pal would be cool beans, but I really would love to hear from anyone.
Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: I don't think I would mind receiving anything. I would like things to be mostly email plus the the errant surprise package or letter thrown in, as I like to write a lot lot lot but don't want to spend lots of money on stamps. I am cheap.
What would be in your dream letter or package?: Photos of the pen pal and various friends/family/pets special places, a cultural/local knick knack, a poem or story written just for me!
Anything else you'd like to add?: I am really quite quite busy sometimes as I take summer classes all week and then work on the weekends and then I spend a lot of time catching up with friends/family/boyfriend on the weekend to make up for being MIA the other 5 days of the week. I do have time to write, but my time to write varies from week to week so please be patient! Also I am absent minded so don't hesitate to nudge me. I also LOVE meeting new people and have absolutely no shame, so there is no topic too strange or situation too weird for me to handle. The more unique the better!

You basically listed everything I send to my friends without them wanting to receive as the stuff you want to receive.
I'm like a human digg. Or reddit. Your choice.

Date: 2010-06-22 01:26 am (UTC)I send that kind of stuff to people ALL of the time. I am always dropping some sort of article I read or cool thing that I saw in conversation.
AND OMG. Baby alligators! Rarely do people find things as seemingly odd as reptiles to be cute. Props on that one. I, for one, ADORE baby turtles and snakes.

Date: 2010-06-22 01:35 am (UTC)My mom sends me lolcats, that's about it.
Sometimes she sends me ten texts in a row going, "WHERE ARE YOU" when I'm in the other room.
She's not very good at technology but has a lot of it.
I should probably just start an entire new tumblr filled with cute animals. It'll amuse the elderly people who stumble upon the internet, and maybe the young young children.
I'm sub'd to a ton of science blogs so I tell my friends INTERESTING FACTS that they don't really care about.
It's good bar talk. This is how I pick up people.
"Hey baby, did you know alligators can communicate IN the shell? Aww yea wanna give me your number?"

My mom is silly because my dad knows everything about computers, buys her all the latest technology, and isn't even old. I don't know why this happens.
She made fun of me for not understanding "TGIF" on facebook the other day though.

Date: 2010-06-22 03:24 am (UTC)What other kind of music/books/movies are you into? Since you share a few in common with me it seems and they're all pretty diverse.

Date: 2010-06-23 11:06 pm (UTC)Films... I generally watch a lot of silent film, as well as documentaries. I'm also really into French New Wave cinema... but I also have a soft spot for kid/animated films, particularly Pixar ones.
Most of what I read these days is gender/queer/sociological theory (preparing for graduate school + I love it anyway), but I am also a fan of poetry (Allen Ginsberg, Rainer Maria Rilke, T.S. Eliot, Frank O'Hara, etc.). I really love C.S. Lewis, as well - my favorite book of his is Till We Have Faces.
I think I'll post my queermail intro soon, I'll come back and comment with it so you can see if you're interested in being penpals!

Date: 2010-06-23 02:22 am (UTC)Admittedly, I've never read any of the books you mentioned. Maybe it's something I should do.
On a completely serious note: HOW AWESOME IS OATMEAL WITH DINOSAURS ON IT? It makes eating healthy food fun. That's why Spaghetti-Os are so much fun.
