How do you identify? (sexuality/gender): Dyke (it's got an ass-kicking ring to it)/Female. (Unless "dyke" counts for gender, too? Bad joke... Sorry.)

Interests/hobbies: Movies, writing, reading, walking, cities, languages, music, sleeping. Fangirling is a lifestyle. :P

Favourite books: Is it embarrassing I haven't read anything not for school in like ever? Except for "how-to" books about making movies? Anyway. I'm in the middle of The Odyssey, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, The Road, and plan on starting Naked Lunch, soon. Oh, and A Single Man!

Favourite films: Evil Dead, Garden State, Paper Cut, History Boys, Billy Elliot, But I'm A Cheerleader, Across the Universe, Empire Records, Ten Inch Hero (super highly recommended ohmygoodness), Eraserhead, Dark City, A Single Man, Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 8th Dimension... etc. (I also go to the Boston 24 hr Sci-fi Marathon every year. I'm one of those people... Whoever they are.)

Favourite TV shows: Supernatural, Castle, Firefly, Buffy (but I'm stuck mid-season 3!), NCIS, Dr Who, Torchwood, Merlin,

Favourite music: EVERYTHING. No, I'm mostly a rock/punk/post-punk-pop (90s) kind of person. Our Lady Peace, NIN, Green Day, Velocity Girl, Madder Rose, Roz Raskin & The Rice Cakes, Blink-182, The Flaming Lips, Garbage, Ivy, The Jesse Minute... the list goes on. But I'll listen to anything at least once.

What would you like to send/receive?: Letters! That was probably obvious. I just like making friends, and talking to people, I talk a lot, and the other person has to not mind a bit of over-sharing (sometimes I talk before I think, and that can be vaguely uncomfortable). But mixes, collages (mind, for all my trying I'm a shitty arts-and-crafts person everything I make is just UGLY), pictures, stupid stories, presents, family members... Oh wait. Anything!

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: People, squids, Lectroids, Cthulu, whomever... I think folks with opposable thumbs would be preferable.

What countries would you like to receive mail from and send to?: I think it's best to answer this in terms of language, I speak English, French, fluent but illiterate in Greek, and I have a passable grasp on Spanish. I'm a bit broke, so small packages only for long distances.

Anything that you would particularly NOT like to receive?: (eg. "food/candy with nuts") Things that smell. Things that rot. Roadkill (unless it's preserved). Illegal things. Younger siblings.

What would be in your dream letter or package?: A mix and a thoughtful letter. Or a secret. A letter bursting with an elation that just had to be shared. A expression of genuine interest in friendship.

Anything else you'd like to add?: I like long walks on the beach, quiet dinners at home, cuddling, and B-grade 70s horror flicks... Oh sorry, this isn't that kind of place, my bad. :P I can't take anything seriously, sorry. I promise, I only make this many bad attempts at humor when I'm nervous. I'm a huge geek, and suffer from a chronic case of dorkiness. (And yes I can tell you the difference between geek, and dork which probably makes me a nerd, and I can define that, too.)

Hey there Des! I too use dyke because I enjoy its ass-kicking vibe, and despite my hair being longish and loving skirts, I'm small and strong and tough and I do so enjoy a good ass-kicking. Are you enjoying The Road? I like All The Pretty Horses myself.

I can't say I like The Road very much. I prefer less serious & depressing literature. But my advisor bought me a copy, so I have to read it now. While I feel that that is what a post-apocalyptic world would look like, I much prefer a view of the post-apocalypse in-line with, say, Tank Girl or A Boy and his Dog. :\

I TOTALLY FORGOT THAT I COLLECT BONES SOMETIMES. /random. I have a plastic bag of them sitting in a drawer in my grandparents house. Goat bones, I think. Like that time we found a perfectly preserved dried-out rat and my mom wouldn't let us pick it up and my dad wanted to make it into a book cover.

What color of M&Ms do you think tastes best? I think blue peanut M&Ms are the best. c:

Is Tank Girl good? it keeps coming in and out of my consciousness, and I keep forgetting to read it.

I wonder why it will not let you comment on my entry. Peculiar. I am just starting with the bone collecting - I have a tiny delicate rodent skull from Tasmania, and four bones from the same skeleton (I think), rabbit hide, fox and aussie possum tails, two feathers, horse incisors, and a beautiful badger skull. I am always lurking around looking for cougar or hyena things, as I am strange.

I also love blue M&Ms, but I love the sadly-retired crispy ones best.

I'm not sure about the comic... Haven't really found a way to get my hands on it. But the movie was really fun!
Your bone collection is much more formal than mine... I just pick stuff up when I find it. Mostly it's goat bones from where they fall on the mountainsides on the islands in Greece. (I go in the summers to visit my grandparents.)

We should be friends! (Email, letters, what would you prefer? I'm up for pretty much anything. I like that if we send letters between us, they won't take too long in coming, as we're only going across one state line. c: )

I totally have a little bone-shrine that my college roommate would SHRIEK about in an amusing fashion ("It's not the bones, I mind, Edie, it's the fact that you have BUILT A TINY ALTAR.") and it is very carefully arranged.

Emails to start would work for me - let me message you my contact - and then letters once I decide you are not a CRAZY STALKER LOL and give you my address.
