How do you identify?: I'd say lesbian, but I can't be sure since I've never been in a relationship.

Interests/hobbies: Reading, writing, cooking (especially sweet stuff), walking aimlessly around the city or through the nature, talking about everything (even though I'm usually shy at first) with allowed confortable silences. Probably more but that I can't think of right now.

Favourite books: Oh, too many. I'm passionate about french litterature so I love a lot of it, especially from the second half of the 18th century to the first half of the 20th one. That doesn't mean I don't like anything else, but I admit I'm a bit difficult. I particularly love Proust, Mauriac, Laforgue, and also Violette Leduc and Haruki Murakami. But if it counts, my favorite reading is poetry, mostly from the 19th : Rimbaud, Lautréamont, Dickinson, Wilde. Right, I also love english litterature, though I don't know much about it yet. Except Dickens and Salinger (I know, he's american :p).

Favourite films: Movies have never attracted me as much as books, but I like Burton, Tarantino, Almodovar, Eytan Fox, the Cohen brothers, Woody Allen, Gus Van Sant... and absolutely love Lars Von Trier. Star Wars and Matrix (only the first one) are good too.

Favourite TV shows: I don't own a TV but I watch lots (too much) of shows on the internet. I'm particularly a huge fan of Doctor Who (seriously, british shows are the best), and I like True Blood a lot.

Favourite story topics: I love science-fiction, and everything fantasy and adventures, but what I prefer is good phycologic analysis. I hate naive love stories without subtlety and everything cliché in general (but non-cliché love stories are welcome, especially if it's about a more profound relationship). Erotism is good, as long as it can be seen as art and not only some way to sexually please oneself (it can be straight, gay, lesbian, or whatever well-described kink, except if it contains non-mutual or humiliating sex).

Favourite music: I like everything. I mean it. It depends on my mood. It can be classical music, pop, rock, disco, metal, salsa, reggae, mystic, old french singers, ... Till it's good in its own style!

How do you identify?: female - used to like boys only until recently, quite intruiged by the idea of liking girls, so bi...ish? After developing a serious girlcrush on Maggie Gyllenhall in Mona Lisa Smile I guess I couldn't help but notice.

Interests/hobbies: sewing (mostly because buying the stuff I want is too expensive and we have a store which sells 100000000 kinds of cloth - it's like paradise just better!), reading (once I'm in the mood I won't even notice that seasons are changing or I have basic needs, lik, well, food?), fashion (I'll admit it - I'm a girly girl. I like being girly and for a year now have only been wearing dresses and skirts. It's like a passion. Besides, the idea that I can be someone else every single day just by changing the things I wear is so cool - it's like I'm a princess or something just better), writing (first fanfiction, then nanowrimo.org, now mostly original pieces), Japan (language, people, culture, history, anything - I'm a junkie and I know it), languages (German, English, French, Japanese, a bit of Spanish, Swedish and even some Dutch), cooking/baking (I suck at using recipes, though. Mostly I come up with the stuff myself and my mum hates me for being so good at it. She thinks I got it from my grandma who could do anything without a recipe, her eyes closed, and one hand behind her back), talking (about anything. I tend to ramble but, well, I guess such is life. My mind is filled with things and somehow I need to voice them. I like hearing other people's opinions and by now I am proud to say that I am very open-minded at tolerant), travelling (I have a deep love for the UK and Ireland but Canada and the states are on the list, too, amongst others), psychology (I once wanted to become a psychologist but somehow that idea got lost along the way - I still like it, though), art (I'm not a pro but I still ilke doing these kinds of things - it keeps my mind from wandering), music (I used to sing in a choir and I still love singing, especially while I am driving in my car which is good because then no one can hear me or see my... Favourite films: Dead Poets' Society, Because I said so, Seven Pounds, Sherlock Holmes .... plus anything Tim Burton or Hayao Miyazaki (Howl's moving Castle was sooooo good!). I also like lots of indie films.

Favourite music: anything, basically – I find it difficult to talk about my taste in music because I don't know how to describe it. Besides, "favourite" is such a definite term... I'm a girl. I change my mind... a lot?

What would you like to send/receive?: Handwritten letters are looooove, but email's cool, too, esp. to get to know each other a bit. Packages would be nice, though... What would be in your dream letter or package?: I don't know. Maybe just, you know, something that you think tells me something about you. A drawing, some perfume sprayed on the paper, some stickers, a mixed cd, whatever! Or maybe just a plain letter is nice, too. I love getting mail. Letters are just so nostalgic. I used to write letters with all of my friends when I was 8 or so.

How do you identify?: Bisexual girl. I'm mostly attracted to women and what I'd call aesthetically beautiful men. I have never been in love with anyone but my fiancé who is a girl, though.


Interests/hobbies: I think my interests can be described in three words. Men, music and Japan. For a girl in a lesbian relationship I talk a lot about men. And I'm sure my interest in gay men is really unhealthy.

Music is my life and has been for as long as I remember. A few years back I got interested in a particular genre of Japanese music and got rather obsessed with it. Today I study Japanese at the university because of that. I pretty much live with my fandom and a lot of what I do is centered around it. It's my passion and yes, I'm crazy about it.

Aside from that I'm very creative and I draw realistic portraits when time allows it. I also write a lot, again centered around my fandom, so it's all smutty fan fiction... O.O


Favourite books: I used to read a lot of fantasy. Like A LOT. But for the past many year I've actually stopped reading in favor of writing, although I do still read fan fiction from time to time. I'm still interested in talking about books and writing though!


Favourite films: Haha, almost the same sad story as my reading! I don't watch movies at home anymore, really. I go to the movies every time something comes out I want to see and I most likely only see it that one time no matter how good it was. I like… epic movies. Fantasy and action mostly. Not… comedies and chick-flicks. Best thing this year was Avatar. That was just awesome.


Favourite music: See THIS is the good question! Music is my life! To give you an idea about what kind of music I generally like, I used to listen to things like Nickelback, Green Day, Linkin Park, Maroon Five, Panic! At the Disco, James Blunt and such things… Today however I listen to something entirely different:

Favorite bands are all Japanese: SID, the GazettE, Gackt, Miyavi, LM.C and D'espairsRay definitely on the top of the list. But really, my interest in this particular genre is huge and I love it all xD I can admit to a little korean pop from time to time too. This would be either DBSK or G-Dragon.

Interests/hobbies: Writing Fiction, Singing show tunes (Off key, preferably), reading, acting (Musical theater major), video games (X-Box 360. I've been playing RPGs since I could walk. I can safely say that I've never really thought about something like that. my name is sarah. i just relocated from san francisco to iowa - long story. i do enjoy living in a state where it's legal to marry whomever you please, but eh. it's still iowa.

i'm kind of a sarcastic asshole. if you read my journal this should become clear to you fairly quickly. if this does not appeal to you i will not take offense, however, if you have a sense of humor i promise i will make you laugh your ass off.

i am also a complete music geek. i co-managed a record and comic book store for years and have helped run several labels. i currently write album reviews (in addition to working a very glamorous job at a pizza place). most of what i currently do musically involves black metal. i just got finished helping mix my friend's new album and am quite proud of it.

Interests/hobbies: I play the Clarinet, Sax (Both Alto and Tenor). I read like it's going out of style. Favourite books: Last I checked I had well over two hundred books. I think I like most books that I read, minus Twilight, I’m sure it’s the only book I actually threw at the wall in disgust. Harry Potter has been a love since I was a kid, Kat Richardson’s Greywalker Series, Marrion Zimmer Bradley (Mists of Avalon is probably the most re-read book in my collection), crime novels, Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta Series, Stephen King, pretty much anything to be honest.

Favourite films: I love horror movies, sci-fi/fantasy movies, the occasional girly romance movie, Loving Annabelle, D.E.B.S, X-Files: Fight the Future, Star Trek:XI, Underworld, Resident Evil, Rose Red, Shutter Island, Soul Survivors. Most movies, except for a lot of comedy movies I don’t really like. For some reason my brain seems to feel deprived when it’s not having to think at all.

Favourite music: With my new music kick I have going I’ll listen to anything. It really depends on my mood what I listen to. All around favorite is Something Corporate though. The day before my 22^nd birthday they’re playing in Orlando, and I’m dying to go.

How do you identify?: Bi-sexual I would think. But I'm a bit of a hermit, so I'm merely going by what I'm generally attracted to and thats normally equal parts male and female.

Interests/hobbies: Lots of things really. The obvious ones I guess are things like movies and music. But I'm also an occasional bird watcher, I really enjoy taking photos whilst I'm indulging that hobby. But I wouldn't call myself a photographer. I really like animals also, I own allot of them and I work full time in a pet store. I also like to indulge in concerts, music definitely sounds better live.

Favourite books: I'll read most anything once, which is normally a good thing but occasionally leads me to read dross like Twilight. [Sorry if you like it, I just really really couldn't understand the appeal and I didint think the writing was to awesome either.] But the ones that stick in my mind are The curious case of the dog in the night, The time travelers wife and the Perks of being a wallflower. As a kid I was obsessed with Harry Potter and that's proved to be an enduring love, I also loved Jacqueline Wilson books, A.A Milne and Beatrix Potter. I also read allot of Graphic novels/comics. I'd say Watchmen,Civil War,The killing joke and The umbrella academy series are my favorites.

Favourite films: Movie dork. I dont generally like horror movies, there are a few exceptions but generally I dont watch horror movies. I like sci-fi movies allot, but I'm sadly queen of the rom-coms. I guess my favourite two writer/directors are Kevin Smith, John Hughes and Richard Curtis and I've seen and own most of their movies. I guess specifically my favorites would be The breakfast club,Some kind of wonderful, Both clerks movies,It's a wonderful life, Nick and Nora's infinite playlist, Napoleon Dynamite, Four weddings and funeral,Zombieland,Watchmen and any all pixar movies. UP never fails to both make me cry and brighten my day.

Favourite books: oh dear, far too much to pick from. I'll pretty much read anything - including awful trashy romance books whenever i need some light reading just cause they're so hilarious. I'm mostly lesbian, and mostly female though I flirt with the border of genderqueer.

Interests/hobbies:
I do have interests and hobbies, though if we're going to judge by how much time I spend on them, you'd think I didn't have any. I'm working full time at the moment, though when I manage to trap a moment or two for myself, you'll find me... well, no, I'm still rather boring. I read too often for my health, always carrying a book around in my bag (not purse, bag) and I even wear this fancy bibliophile badge of pride called 'glasses'. Extra thick, as a blatant symbol of my commitment and my bad habit of reading in the near-dark. I love to write and I hope to do it professionally one day, though I've hit the grand canyon of writer's blocks. I'm told that inspiration will, and always, returns, but that's a chilly comfort when I'm staring at an empty Word doc.

I suppose I've got more normal, everyday interests like movies and music, but then I'm forced to profess my blind love for musicals and I tend to lose whoever I have tricked into having a conversation with me. X3 I've recently stumbled upon the genius that is Protomen, and I have their CDs on repeat whenever I can. When the weather allows, I like wandering and I've found that everything is within walking distance if you've got the time. I've learned the bus routes pretty well and mostly by accident, because I love to spend an afternoon by seeing where a new bus takes me... subsequently getting lost and having to call up a friend so they can google wherever the hell I wound up. XD

Favorite books:
American Gods by Neil Gaiman comes as close to being my favorite book as possible, at least right now. I love anything else by him, and I dream of having those leather-bound volumes of The Sandman. The Pendragon series by D.J. MacHale, the Black Jewels trilogy by Annie Bishop, The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix, anything by Tamora Pierce, Brian Jacques' Redwall series, His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman, Wicked by Gregory Maguire, the Young Wizards series by Diane Duane... those are really my top books that everyone who remotely likes fantasy should read. (Can you tell it's my favorite genre?) 

Favorite films:
This is even harder to answer than the book question! D: Um, Rocknrolla, and The Boondock Saints, and I really liked Stardust but I didn't much like Coraline. I love Steamboy, absolutely amazing. I'm trying to think of what's sitting on my shelves, but I just keep thinking of more books. I love all the Pixar movies, I was really enchanted with Up, haven't seen Toy Story 3 and hating myself because of it. Can I give up? I like anything that has an interesting plotline, and if something blows up, that's fine, it's dramatic, but if it's all boobs and bombs, then no. Give me some dry humor like In Bruges or The Invention of Lying, and I'll be happy. :)

Anything else you'd like to add?: I hate bugs - even butterflies and ladybugs creep me out. I also hate birds, but love penguins and owls. Age: 21. However, I was kind of born a stereotypical old British man, so take from that what you will.

How do you identify?: (sexuality/gender) Oh, the fun question... Gender? Female, definitely. Sexuality? To save time, I tend to tell people I'm a lesbian, but that's not entirely accurate. I go for women probably 80% of the time, but that 20% male portion is almost entirely composed of fictional characters, which some people count and others don't. I guess the easiest way to phrase it is that I'm a lesbian with some exceptions.

Interests/hobbies: Reading and writing take up a very large amount of my time. I research whatever suits my fancy at a given moment, so I've accumulated a very large collection of random trivia that probably interest no one but me, but it amuses me so I'm okay with it. I watch too much TV, though never on the actual television (I tend to watch series in large blocks at a time on sites like Hulu or Netflix). Um... other hobbies? Cars (the one stereotype I seem to consistently adhere to...), knitting, computers, comics, languages, cooking. I'm sure there are others that aren't occurring to me right now.

Favourite books: Pretty much anything considered a “classic” (Yeah. I have my pretentious English Lit. Major moments. TV shows include Doctor Who (originally just nu!Who, but I've begun to go back and watch classic!Who recently and am enjoying myself), Supernatural (yeah. How do you identify?: I have been known, on ocassion, to wish I was born a man. For all that, I would be gay if that were the case - I like my menfolk. 

Interests/hobbies: My interests are wide and varied. I have an intense desire to know things, so I love learning. (If you promise not to laugh, I'll let you in on a secret - I (honest to goodness) used to read the dictionary). I like doing things with my hands - I sew, embroider and cross stitch (not too well, but I'm getting better), I draw and would one day love to make miniature houses. I am enraptured by the cosmos and love history. My affair with history started in Egypt in second grade, and has since taken a leisurely path through the Fertile Crescent, Europe, India, China and Japan. I think ancient Chinese history is my favorite at the moment. If I had my own way, I would just travel and learn things for the rest of my life.

 

I am currently learning Japanese and one day would like to learn Korean or Mandarin as well. I practice judo, love swimming, and put up with the rest of the gym. On most days I am fortunate enough to like my job, and on the days that I'm not so fortunate, I go take it out on some otherwise undeserving fictional character.

 

I am a writer and great lover of language. I am working on several original novels that will probably fester for decades before they get to the level of being publishable. Despite my seeming lack of ability to finish any of these, I have written hundreds (if not thousands) of page of fanfiction (guilty as charged). I write for many fandoms and for a couple reasons a.) I am enraptured by the universe (Harry Potter) b.) I felt like there was much more there than was brought out (Dragon Ball Z) c.) It needs to be fixed. (Twilight xD)

 

Along with writing, I am an avid reader and love anime.

Favourite books: My favorites change day-to-day. When I'm in a more serious mood, I love Tad Williams, John Marco, C.S. Friedman, Louise Cooper. When I want an easy read that will pull at the chest, I pick up the Herald Mage Series. When I'm feeling adventurous and want to see how long my logic meter can hold out against sheer genre goodness, I select a number from Nicholas Seafort Saga.

Favourite films: The Labyrinth is my all-time favorite, I love The 13^th Warrior, The Rock, movies like Troy and Alexander, movies like Stargate, movies like Gattaca. I loved Avatar (who didn't?) and the new Robin Hood was decent. Other than that, I've really been on a Bleach kick lately, so I haven't been watching a lot of movies – though I did pull out Fast and the Furious and xXx the other day. I suppose I should find Riddick to make it a more complete marathon.

Favourite music: Again, pretty wide. One day might be Sarah McLachlan and Loreena McKennit, the next is Tool, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin. Yesterday I found Adam Lambert's stuff and got a kick out of that.

What would you like to send/receive?: Up for negotiation. I like the idea of exchanging real letters, but one can never be too careful about handing out their address these days, as unfortunate as that might be.

Who would you like to send and receive mail from?: Storytellers, poets, comics. Articulate, eloquent, organic writers, someone who can put their soul in a pen. Travelers, and people who live in other countries, or speak other languages. I am fascinated by other cultures, and adore photographs and stories of beautiful places.
